For all you know they may have tried to convince him to plead guilty. I don't see the point of trying to read their minds and blame/not blame them, it makes no difference anyway. Ultimately you have no clue what they were thinking or did.Sure, if I believed that they had no idea and truly believed him I would be sympathetic. I follow alot of cases and am often sympathetic to the offender's family.
In this case I just don't believe that they haven't acted to protect their own interests. It's my opinion.
