The MCG that was on the verge of being banned from hosting Test cricket after multiple years of being rated poor? They had to bring Hough and Les Burdett across to save it as a Test venue.

Having a decent pitch at the MCG has been the exception.

Which was 8 years ago! There hasn't been a bad pitch since. India and Pakistan in the last 2 summers have been great pitches
