I thought Pittonet went OK. I wasn't sure how he would go under the new rules but he is managing to get his hand to the ball and direct it to advantage. The opposition was pretty ordinary but kudos to Pinnonet for sticking at it despite a fair bit of adversity and having an impact.

No coincidence they lost the plot the day they sacked Andrew Russell. He had them flying, and then soft-as-butter players couldn't handle the rigour of his fitness regime (even though he got Curnow up and going) and now here's where they are.

He was on radio during the week and was asked about the fitness side of Carlton.
His response was simple, it is all in their head now, has nothing to do with physical fitness.

That's the thing with the unprofessional clubs, the players rule the roost, it's why they never get anywhere. Carltank's always been like this. Soft as butter.

I knew they’d lost the plot when they hired Malthouse. Great coach who by that stage was about as fresh as a dog biscuit.

I think the problem at Carltank is their on field leadership.

Patrick Cripps is a "nice boy" emphasis on nice boy. He is fine as the face of Carlton. Sells the club to the mum's, dads and supporters but he is no on field leader.

Look at North. They replaced Simpkins with Larkey and it has worked for them. When the game was there to be won or lost in the last 2 minutes, Larkey was up on the wing, banging and crashing into the opposition. You could see his effort and intensity especially in the ferocious tackling. Other players see it. If my Captain is doing it, I better do it too type effect. Plus added effect is Larkey can direct other players so he himself can move up the ground, speak to players who maybe down or give help, as a Captain should.

Cripps as a mid is more focused and has to be on the ball and following the ball, winning the ball.

Carlton need a man who plays hard, tackles harder, never gives in type attitude, a do as I do type player but who also has the licence to move around the field, set up the D and encourage his teammates, especially the one's who are down or getting beaten.

Two Captains. The club Captain and the on field Captain would help that club as much as getting rid of the coach.

Neither of these two scare me.

Freo have plenty of good players, but they play a defensive gamestyle to make up for their bang average defence.
It just isn't in their DNA to capitalise on momentum.

EDIT: Treacy is a ****ing GUN though.
When Treacy marks the ball you can see him squeeze the air out of it, vice like hands

He’s so bad you feel sorry for him. What was that kick?
At least he connected with this one. In the semi against us last year he missed the ball completely.

Finn o' Sullivan is the one we should go after. Liked him in his draft year but we didn't have the picks as we needed them for tb. I'd throw our picks at either of hump or FOS. We have two high end talent midfielders in Day and Mackenzie who unfortunately miss a lot of important game where we need all the midfield talent we can get. Obviously they are and have been extremely unlucky but we can't go through this trade period without adding in another A grader.

He was pick 2 mate a lot of people liked him in his draft year! Still a year left of his contract, I’d put recruitment chance below 0.1%, with an added 42% risk of a punch to the mouth of whoever asks the question, rising to a 98% chance if Clarko’s in the room.

It was patently obvious at the time, and still is, that Malthouse only wanted the Carlton job to try and upstage Collingwood. Not a good recipe for success.

Any of Sheezel, LDU, O’Sullivan or Wardlaw would be amazing pickups.
