Do i sense a softening in your heart in regards to BT Conduct? :D

No not really. Played against them in B grade a few years back. Got king hit. A few of us did. My older cousing played aginst them in A grade in late 80s. They had issues. Thats life. They do have the best junior set up of any club in the area.

Just wondering about those older guys that were playing back in the day and still seem to be going round. See a few oldies in the clubbies list (Darby/Robertson/Glover) and was wondering if there were plans to keep pursuing a team there.

Not sure about the Clubbies - was actually run almost as a stand alone team. Was good and bad for the club IMO. Didn't make a lot on sense to see reserves struggling for numbers whilst Club 18 having 8 on the pine and sitting on top for most of the season.

As for me - not sure yet. I would like to play on but it will depend on a few other factors. Snids and Tulls are both playing as far as I know. Tulloch to notch up 250 senior games in an early round.
Rusty is back which is fantastic as he was the heart and soul of the club a few seasoons ago. Recruitment sound positive - but usually does in November. Apologies about your previous rough treatment by BT - from memory the BT v Eagles games where generally played in pretty good spirits as both teams had a large mix of BT jnrs and college kids. Anyway, with M Amad and the like you had a fair amount of protection..... :)

Sounds like you guys will be competitive again Derm. given your high % and your ability to smack some good sides, it would have to be said that missing the finals was a disaapointing outcome.

How many sides miss the finals with a % over 130?

If you played for NOBS, Beaumaris, MHSOB, Marcellin, Brighton, Uni Blues, Old Melbournians or Old Ivanhoe..it was probably me.

Seems I didn't hit you hard enough.

Thanks for clearing that up guys - if this is the case, then I am happy to report that it was neither of you.:thumbsu:

I am slightly disappointed it was neither of us. Where did you play? I picked you as an Eagle.

Sorry, not really into drugs.

Back to the footy - any grounds out of bounds via local council decree yet?

Harper - where do you guys train during the GP? I see KISS are playing at the opening this year. No doubt the BT boys would already know that as 90% of them would be KISS ARMY members...

Im led to believe that Fawkner have gone into recess this year.
Gone this year, but planning a big come-back next season. Wonder if it's in the Divvy 2 of the NFL?

Hey guys sorry to intrude but Fawkner Park(remember they merged with Moomba Park) FC have moved into the EDFL after merging with North Coburg FC. The EDFL would not have a team called Fawkner in the comp so The New Club is now The Northern Saints. It will be based at Mutton Reserve Fawkner so the Club rooms will embarrass many visiting EDFL teams, after all the rooms were designed for VAFA competition not a local suburban comp.

Most of the FPFC players had headed to North Coburg FC this year so the teams have been "merged" for a season already. Plans are to shake the EDFL by this little club on the outskirts.

P.S. we are looking for players.

CU, during the grand prix you'll find us in one of the many fine watering holes around South or Port, sometimes we have a kick on the centre median strip on beach road or anywhere else we can find some grass.

Nothing wrong with being a Marchole either. Go Eages!

Tess - thats just fukcing great. There are a still a couple of us around at BT who played against Fawkner in the Ammos..and although we gave as good as we got, it was good to see them move.

I note your assertion that the rooms @ Mutton Reserve were designed for the VAFA. Unfortunatley, your players (except big Henry Lawson who was ok), were designed for Prison Break. If you are looking for players try the D4 thread - closer to the standard of footy you will be playing.

ps, your new logo is not as bad as some others are making out.

Conduct, if your are still bitching about Bulleen Temp's past indiscretions, you woulda loved playing Fawkner you sook.:p

Thanks for the invite to come to the Mutton but as Dee has just stated - as much as we loved the very cordial post match functions which always included sandwiches and party pies (nice and soft so as to be eaten with loose teeth and sore jaws) - I still get a cold sweat when I go and visit my grand parents accross the road at the grave yard!

Good luck thou with your projects - as what doesn't kill you will make you stronger.........

reminds me of our coach telling us prior to a game out at the mutton. Our senior team had an average age of about 20 and had never been there before. He said "to my knowlegde nobody has every died on a football field"....... it had rained for a week leading up to the game - we were a bit light on for number as the Fawlkner flu had run through the club (often did come to think if it) and by Quarter time we were donw to 17 men. AAAAHHHH the memories.

cheers Ugly

I am not a sook - if you want to read some sooking log onto the Richmond thread and look at the bleating about not getting one Friday night game @ the MCG in the 2008 AFL draw!

Anyway, played Fawkner a couple of times. They were ok. They splashed around a little bit of $$ in their final years in C & B grade.

Whats happening with Ted Ajani Reserve in 2008? Any chance the playing surface will be bought up to VAFA standards this year?

Ajani has just had a $20k re seed and is getting watered this summer, unlike last year, so we are hoping for a better surface for 08. No grounds in Manningham council available for any pre season though.

Players shouldn't be a problem by the looks of it, Fawkner Park FC started gearing up for a comeback next season in the NFL about April this year. We had 40 current players wanting to get back to Mutton Reserve at that meeting, so hopefully our numbers will be OK.

Also we have a huge area to from Bells St Coburg to Cooper St Somerton to draw on for Sponsors as we are the only Club left in that corridor.

Fawkner in the VAFA were known for many years as the thugs of the VAFA, an amateur version fo Doutta Stars, but worse.

Fawkner flu? More like Fawkner criminals. Never had to bother with the dentists very much.

With Killer now in place as our new coach I'm pretty sure we'll pull the footys back out soon. What's going on around the D1 traps, any clubs already into pre-season training? Have all the clubs sorted out their coaching staff?
