Scary? I just couldn't care less.
I'm a football fan not an accountant.
No need to trash accountants, they like footy too, just pointing out that the ratings make sense if you know what they are rating. Most of the responses here showed that people were judging the ratings incorrectly.

As noted above, that is not what they are rating. Selwood and Stewart are rated against their peers in their position, not against their own team mates in other positions. Also, they use two years worth of data, so Stewart is brought down by his good but not great first year.
Makes a lot more sense now, since you put it that way.
Especially the 2 year thing
Selwood got injured at the end of 2017,
Smith had some good games that year, etc
CD rankings are not something I agree with but at least on these ones they make some sort of sense now.

Ha ha, defend away.
When numbers say Selwood and Stewart are "average", then the numbers are wrong.
It doesn't matter how you spin it.

Can anyone confirm that Krueger is on the track and in full training after his “minor knee strain”.

Just asking.
We'll find out in June.

Glad I was sitting down when I flicked through my copy of the AFL Prospectus which arrived today. Player ratings for our list according to Champion Data:

Elite: Dangerfield, Menegola, Hawkins.

Can understand Danger and Hawkins. Don't know about Menegola though.

Above Average: Henderson, Blicavs, Kelly, Taylor, Duncan, Tuohy, Ablett, Smith.

Henderson? Taylor? Smith? Surely they're extracting the urine.

Average: Parfitt, Henry, Stanley, J.Selwood, Stewart, Dahlhaus, Rohan.

Selwood and Stewart only rated average? Pisser. Surely Stanley should be rated higher than Smith too.

Below Average: Fogarty, C.Guthrie, Kolodjashnij, Parsons, Cunico, S.Selwood, Bews, Cockatoo.

Poor: Z.Guthrie

Unclassified (less than 10 games in last 2 years) : Narkle, Ratugolea, O'Connor, Jones, Abbott, Fort, Atkins, Buzza, Simpson, Okunbor, Miers, Constable, Kreuger, Brownless, Tarca, Kennerley, Jarvis, Schlensog, Clark.
On the upside, theres plenty of room to improve

That's our best bet.
They did and reported back after asking the club what the result of a training mishap was ( pre Xmas). They said a mild knee strain. I went to training first day back but Krueger and the other newies were in Melb for induction day.

I have been away and waiting for news on Krueger's post Xmas training. I have been able to find none.

I expect it is a minor injury now but I would like to see him on the park to be sure.

Mild knee strain huh?

We'll probably find out in a few months that his leg was amputated.

CD has this bang on.

No point gilding the lily, these two need to dramatically improve in 2019 or they will find themselves on the outer.
I guess I'm bias cos I like Bews, and I know his stats would of been shit last year, and he does need a bit of improvement but you've gotta have a look at the team he's playing in.
I know some people get upset if you don't call all AFL players courageous heroes but really Bews was the only person standing in front of blokes taking the hits at times, some of these other big boys just wouldn't do it.
I think we need him in the team.

He has worked hard from the start. Prob is, he maybe overdid what he should have been doing and that's on the club.
Spot on- too big,too early
On what basis do you guys say that? That photo is typical of players in preseason in the midst of strength training. They spend the rest of the season running it off.

People just judge Bews on stats after not watching the game. He single handedly turned things around after about a 5 year period of small forwards dominating us post golden era.

Bews' stats in this case ARE irrelevant.
He is a very good player, and he is a must have in our 22.
Imho.

I saw him on the Cats Insta the other day when they trained in the stinking hot heat coming off with the rest of them and standing in front of the big fan they had set up... So I assume worst case he was out there putting in some hard running

That's good. A confirmed sighting. Thanks.

We need those third tallish forwards to press hard. The two new youngsters have a great opportunity staring them in the face.

Couldn't agree more. We need him, we don't have anyone else like him.
Dislocated his shoulder, came back and in my opinion was our best player in the final.
Certainly when the heat was on and it mattered anyway. Was our best.
Bugger stats.

Bews is an opposition small forward, lock down player....his stats arent relevant, his opponents are. Does a great job in the role he plays
One of the few blokes you can count on to put the interests of the team ahead of his own game.

Yep, that last bit is so what we need.
Also he's not a scaredy cat, physically or mentally.

Little bit of reused footage there, but some cute little moments.

We didn't get to see the result but I quite liked how fluid Okunbor's kicking action looks.

Positionally speaking he would be a 'General Defender' which covers any backline player that's not a KPD. Pretty sure the rebounding half backs gobble up all the primo rankings there by accumulating big numbers.
