FiveThirtyEight, like realclearpolitics are a long long way from non-partisan websites.
Over the years I have looked at those.
They cherry pick the polls they want to exaggerate their agenda.
For example, RealClearPolitics who claim to present an average of poll results includes selective Rasmussens polls, because most of them are generally more favourable to Trump.
FiveThirtyEight have a history of anti-trump narrative. They wrote an article that Trump wasn't a real candidate and had no chance of even being nominated. They have been owned and supported by anti-trump media organisations. They are far from transparent with how they make their pollster evaluations.
Your desire to find fault in a specialist polling company such as Rasmussen, based on it's results being more favourable to Trump is further evidence that you are an anti-trumper. I openly acknowledge that I am a Trump supporter and like to show an alternate view and news to what anti-trumpers generally expose themselves to. Why do you have such a problem with acknowledging that you are an anti-trumper?

In summary, the committee confirmed that someone can run, for office, using whatever finances they want from whatever sources, and distribute that money as they wish.

It also confirms that there is no regulation of a president doing things like, purchasing stock in Oil, Gas and other companies, and then with unimpeded access change laws relating to those industries. Such as...Oh, I dont know, regulations? Which then in turn give that industry a short boost of confidence, allowing them to quietly sell those shares for a nice little profit.

Basically American Politics is corrupt from the top down, and Republicans want it to stay that way while it suits them. And Im sure the Democrats abuse the exact same system, if given the chance.
