I wish Mark Duffield would write all Fremantle-related articles...

Nothing any of us avid followers wouldn't already know but some good quotes from Walters confirming it.
I reckon you're right about the circulation and we're going to be news this year also so...The West seems a bit conducive to +ve articles on Freo lately
Maybe coz they are losing circulation, and they have pissed off 30% of their target audience?
They are trying to get some purple back, it's a trap viewers, it's a trap

Good to see the big man get some recognition. We nailed that draft. Two of our other players are probably deserving of being top 20 in the redraft as well...Interesting: http://www.espn.com.au/afl/story/_/id/26057542/afl-draft-doerre-reselecting-top-20-2016-draft
"...This is Doerre's top 20 from 2016.
No. 1: Sean Darcy
Where he was picked: No. 38
Analysis: Darcy is the competition's best ruckman under the age of 24 and can be the best player in this draft pool. He's a powerful unit who is an excellent tap ruckman and tackler. The bargain of the draft, Darcy made an incredible jump from a junior who struggled to find the ball, didn't hit the scoreboard and had a limited impact on games to putting up the best numbers of any first-year ruckman in a long time. He backed this up with a promising second season and is likely to take further strides over the next few years."

Who is this guy - does he just hate freo?
Just smashes Montagna in this article and paints fremantle in a generally bad light.
He just sounds like he hates the club and has dribbled this piece under the guise of an opinion

Yep, Michelle said that was made up and she gets along well with Ross.Prestipino and journalist don't belong in the same sentence.
Last year he insinuated Cowan left Freo for cultural reasons and didn't even bother try giving her a phone a call to back his assertions. Simply just guessed.

We may see a changing of the guard WA media wise this year. With the new West editor coming in (you don't usually get a job that big, that young, unless you're really good and insightful, or your last name's Packer or Murdoch), I have already noticed a more mainstream focus rather than down the extremes when compared to the previous editor. With regard to the footy, it did seem counterproductive to alienate so much of your potential readership in a footy-mad town. Alternatively, WAToday continues to move toward the extremes seeking to uncover and 'highlight' more controversy everywhere they can find or create it. That's obviously Preachi's role with regard to footy. Time will tell if this continues or not (and who gives Hardly an opinion piece).

Sure. Tabloidy, but down the mainstream that everyone can get alongside - like a Labrador puppy, rather than the Germaine Greerishness of WAToday out to virtue signal and highlight offense.Interesting you say that about the West. I've noticed it's become even more like a tabloid and is mirroring the Daily Telegraph in NSW, which is where he was previously. I'm not the only person to notice either with that comparison. Positioning of stories, outrageous rubbish that somehow sneaks onto the front page are just some of the examples I've noticed since he was made editor.
