Garrison has never once succeeded in being funny. The reason is that he punches down, as well as completely misrepresenting the opinions of the people he attacks.

He's also a shit artist. Other cartoonists manage to create recognizable depictions of famous people with a few pencil lines and maybe a smudge of colour; Garrison has to put labels on everything because his childish scrawls- though very elaborate- don't really look like anything.

His "cartoons" are basically hate-rants on paper.

You do realise that the article isn't saying they'll be gone by 2000? It's saying that we need to take action by 2000, or they will eventually go.
