“Darcy and forward Cam McCarthy were among a big number of Dockers who turned out for Peel against East Fremantle at East Fremantle Oval.
Coach Ross Lyon and high-profile recruits Jesse Hogan and Rory Lobb watched on as the pair mounted their round one cases.”

So late on Sat he was with the coach and a few other players at East Fremantle oval and then bolted down to Mandurah for quick binge session before rocking up to training on Sun at Optus Oval. Bit of a smell about this one...

How does the club justify playing him the following week? If this was just a once-off ****up then he gets punished with the 1-week suspension and we move on. Maybe the playing group gives him a "stern talk". Might get a presser so he can express contrition. It's a bad look and a definite concern but it goes in the Luke Ryan/Brennan Cox basket of transgressions.

But if he's getting so wasted he turns up to training still impaired because his mental issues are just that significant, then how are we expecting him to be fine within a week or two? If that's true then he has underlying issues so serious that footy should be the last thing on his plate. If he's back in the fold for round 2 or 3 with all this is hanging over him then isn't he just a ticking time bomb? It's not a matter than can be resolved so quickly.

The woman pest/journalist asking about the other player and then the broken rib makes it sound like they know what's up.

I really, really hope he's not going down the 'who gives a ****' path.

You lose your dad you lose your idol and hero in many cases and the world becomes pretty pointless.

I really hope he wasn't with H Burger and punching on down there, but deep down I know he was and he'll never be the player he should've been.

I think the club would be just as aware as the media and I don't think the Mandurah local would get off without punishment, especially if he's involving others

Are you suggesting Hogan and Bennell are mates outside the footy club?

Bell statement wasn’t hiding anything. Jesse clearly has mental demons and has had a lot to deal with.

By the club outlining his behaviour is unacceptable and both Jesse and the Club acknowledging his anxiety issues has to be a positive for everyone involved.

For Jesse he will get the time and support he requires to develop the mechanisms without the constraints of time to deal with his issues and become a long term player for the club and mlre importantly in a better mental space.

For the club it sends a strong message that drinking in excess is unacceptable. If the club is prepared to stand down a marquee recruit, that is fit and available, in our biggest area of deficit when his back ups are injury ravaged then you better think twice about stepping out of line!

Sorry to intrude, but the club was hiding something.

Watch the video of his pantless dancing and his constant gnawing jaw

Im pretty sure it was quite recent.. Maybe im wrong.
He is wearing a santa outfit in the video, christmas is still fairly recent, can't imagine the club is going to be happy to see it.

Kind of been footys worst kept secret all pre season tho

I know, but just because he's wearing a funny costume doesn't mean it happened over 3 months ago at Christmas time... That's an incredibly long time to keep a video like that hidden. No one else at the party is wearing anything christmas related too.

why would he be in christmas clothes if its not christmas? its pretty clearly not a costume party either

Put yourselves in the shoes of your dad dieing, It happens, people get very upset by it if they are close to them. Get cancer, it happens, people get very upset by it.

Now have these together in a short space of time with cameras and microphones in your face for over a year on these personal issues, your face in the papers, on tv, discussed on radio and hard to avoid. That is just constant poking and prodding of a sore wound and not letting it heal.

All fair game as "entertainment" for avid footy consumers, but at his expense - he went into the draft to play footy, did not sign up for those 2 traumatic life issues to be public entertainment when he is barely out of high school. He'd have issues over it all, you are a mug if you think he's just going to be a machine putting tab A into slot B for us as a footy player and not be deeply affected.

The club wouldn't have brought up anxiety as a mask for him just going out and getting hammered, knowing that it is a talking point in media for everything Hogan related for the next decade. From past incidents, they would have had the players leadership group consider his going and getting trashed and the leadership group would have hit him with the ban hammer for a week, for not meeting team standards. So it's pretty simple, the guy is having some issues, it would have been great to see him play next weekend, but methinks we need to cut him some slack (particularly if you've ever chucked a sickie or turned up trashed to work yourself - and that is most people on the board at least once in their life).

I mean the obvious answer is that someone had that video on their phone for a few months but only got around to posting it on instagram when they heard the latest news about Hogan.

The even more obvious answer is that it's a recent video, but whatever.

People 99 times out of 100 upload these things almost straight away because they're extremely eager to show their friends the amazing thing they just recorded a famous person do.

Well I mean the fact that he's wearing a Santa suit is a fairly strong clue it happened around Christmas time.

Thats not true, me an my mates get on it an wear stupid shit all the time especially out to bars just to see peoples face.

Ive got a full head to toe gumby suit I always wear out

Told you blokes at the time of the trade that I have seen Hogan at Tramp nightclub in Melbourne "buckled" or "cooked" on mdma with my own eyes. Got laughed out as a salty supporter making up stories. Tell yourself what you want but he is cooked as **** in that pic. Dude has issues.
Apolgies please!

Thanks for the link. I thought Bell was strong and articulate. Was that Hagdorn asking repeatedly about Lachie Neale? What a slime. And was Bridget Lacey the female reporter?

It was Mark Duffield and was Bridget

Duffield is hard but fair.

This is our bed. We need to lie in it.

I would have asked harder questions
