Not the greatest game to watch, but this was season one - stick together, grow together & come back stronger next season.

we were never given a chance of finishing anything other than last before the season started, so to even make it this far & finish with 3 wins from our first 5 matches (ignoring the last 3 matches) is a fair effort and something for the team to pride themselves on

I stand by my comments from earlier in the week - we didn't get enough from Boyd, and maybe she did need to do something like throw her weight around early in the match to get herself involved

She was really poor (had plenty of mates) - at her best she tended to work up the ground and mark on the lead, barely got in the frame all match today though.

Loooots of question marks over basically the whole list moving forward.

Just like one of the girls having a shot on goal from 30 metres out, and the commentators trying to tell us shes 50 metres out, theres not a snowball chance in hell theres 13000 people there!
The one thing that shits me about the coverage of womens footy is the blatant misrepresentations to paint it in a better light. Just call it as it is and dont embellish things you shit stains!

I think we have to go further than that. The coaching should be looked at. Obviously made tackling such a high focus.

Mad props to McDonald. Finished off Sarah Perkins' season the last time we played Adelaide, and this week, despite the ball being inside our defensive 50 45 times, kept the league's leading goalkicker to 2 touches and no scoreboard impact whatsoever while racking up 16 possessions herself.

Has Perkins played since we last played them?

I saw her signing the song and couldn't recall if she had another game? It was actually a positive for the Crows when she was dropped from the team because it meant they then selected a player with athleticism and agility who was able to cause the opposition more concern

Either not enough talent or the coaching was focusing on the wrong demographic. Personally .. I think the concept of the girls should be to have to the best skils possible.. Im not fussed if they don't hit hard and tackle like men..cause they never will.
Need speed , need skill with ball in hand

Dark day, and I hope the girls don't take it too deeply to heart. Agree with those that want us to review everything pretty closely before going again, but I think the club always does that with every season.

And heck, there's always the future...

How many are we drafting?

I think we also need to look at some mature bodies - in that mid 20s age bracket to compliment our youngsters and those in the 30+ age group

Perkins would get a game with our team thats for sure..she can kick the ball.

Girls currently top of the ladder with a percentage of 503%! :D

Nice post LandG ... Im not fussed about loosing but the result like this makes one question involvement so.. yes I hope it doesnt scar too deep

As far as the Falcons go.... not sure how many can we have .. right now id say we need their best 5 for sure.

I reckon we might need to be a bit ruthless with some of those in the 30+ age group ... might set up a season review thread later (gotta mow the lawn )

Also, what a bad time to lose Maddy McMahon - I don't think for a moment she would have made a huge difference, but she would have given McDonald some much-needed assistance and she was our best rebounding defender for most the year (and generally finds targets by foot) ..

Talent is definitely an issue.
Big learning curve this year.
