I know Roughy kicked 2 today.. but there comes a point where we should start considering if a 32 year old forward, who is lucky to kick 2 goals a game, doesn't clunk marks and is slow defending, is more beneficial to the side going forward than the next generation FF/CHF.

I have been a member for 28 consecutive years. I haven't signed up this year, not because I'm not intending to - I have a 4 month old and I just haven't got around to it yet.
After watching today, I really don't know if I care to fund this league anymore. Yes, Hawthorn fell in an absolute heap in the last 15 mins. It was disheartening to no end. But that's not why I'm now contemplating not renewing - as gutwrenching a that thought is.

What I witnessed today was not Aussie Rules. There were a lot of similarities to what I know as Aussie Rules, but it certainly wasn't officiated like it. The frequent rule manipulation and adjustments to the interpretation of them in the sport over the past 10 or so years has finally broken me. I know I still have a passion for Aussie Rules, for Hawthorn. But they don't compete in a league that is consistent with what I know as Aussie Rules.

Unleash Clarko. ****ing lay it out in your presser. Call these clowns out for the bullshit they've served up. Everyone is held accountable for their performance. Why aren't the AFL, it's law makers and it's umpires?

This season has gone from good start to big concerns in 30 minutes.

Once again we had way less posession than the opposition midfield a big concern.

I'm not concerned too much. I think the second quarter was really poor. But outside of that I think a number of circumstances collided. I think we'll still be up there this year.

I;ve never seen a free kick like that against Sicily, when the game is in the balance and he;s been shoved before. to pull out the retaliation from doing the exact same thing is absolutely shithouse umpiring and he wont be umpiring next week.

Umpires or not, conceding 9 goals in a quarter and letting a team more than double their whole score is simply pathetic. An absolute disgrace.

It's very hard to not give up goals when the opposition are gifted bullshit unmissable goals directly in front. As for the Worpel 'indiscretion' - who even knew that was a rule?

Blame the umpires all you want but if you do you completely miss the point.

You don't cough up a 30 point lead on your home deck and use the umpires as a patsy.

Yep astonishing! The frees that they got in that last quarter were just as the Geelong fan said as astonishing!

The free against, O'Meara, Sicily, Worpell etc and overall is a disgrace.

But look over the whole game as just the most one sided umpiring I have EVER seen in following the game for over 45 years!

The umpires are clearly been instructed by the AFL to make sure the Dogs win no doubt as some of the decisions; just mind boggling.

There should be an AFL mandate now to all clubs that you are not allowed to touch an opponent or bump someone.

Sicily has every right to be frustrated like Impey, OMeara etc just picking free kicks without any fu..... basis at all.

The Sicily one was just blatant cheating as was just two players giving little pushes against each other so now if you are a backman the AFL must stand by those rules and say you are not allowed to touch your opponent at all.

The real game of Australian Rules Football is now gone.

The game of cheating by obviously influencing the umpires by the AFL is a fact and just disgraceful.

The AFL must be accountable for some of those mind boggling decisions by the umpires and if they were not instructed to be so biased against one side then those umpires should NEVER umpire again!

Yes, of course we could have played much better but if you take away about ten non frees against us we should have won by six goals easily.

This is not just sour grapes but a fact as just utterly disgusting umpiring to make sure of the result!

It is not football anymore but netball with kicking and that is a sad fact!

Feeling pretty flat but as bad as the umpiring was there was also a fair bit we only have ourselves to blame. The first thing I’ll point out was James Cousins handing off to Smith when he probably should’ve gone back to kick the sealer. This one hurts a lot especially as we had a great chance to go 2-0 with a lot of other teams faltering this weekend.

Finally if anyone has the gall to question Ricky Henderson’s spot in the team then go back and look at the 11 minute mark of the 3 quarter and look what he does. His game all in all was close to the best he’s every had for us so I feel for him having the capitulate like that.
Time waits for no man so we just gotta like our wounds and unfortunately it looks like it’s going to be at least 2 outs with Shiels and Burgoyne injured. Probably be Wingard and Howe in for those 2. Anyways I’ll just do what I do when we lose and pretend like it didn’t happen and avoid the sports news

Their one average ruckman broke even with our two.
Roughhead is poor overhead for a KPP basically no presence.
Sheils and Burger poor before their injury anyway so no great loss.
Yer the umpires were shit but our performance was no better, that game should of been over and a percentage booster in the last.

We were 2 men down and out of legs but still about 19 points up with 7-8 minutes left?? and hanging on as valiantly as we could. Only needed another few minutes of steady football to close this out. But the umps dead set rolled up their sleeves and said "look boys you're not really closing this gap quickly enough.... so yeah look we're just gunna turn this game on it's head."

You could see the Dogs boys just pump their chests out and jump on for the ride.

Clarko you make about $2M a year. Be prepared to sacrifice about $50K of it.
