It’s Collingwood.

When they are rolling it’s all hands on deck. There are superstars on every line. Honest toilers become under rated guns. Lots of gushing about young talent.

Whether it’s good or bad, Getting all hot and bothered about Collingwood is a great Victorian pass time.

We're damned if we do.
We're damned if we don't.

Bring it on.

The media landscape is only going to get more crowded, and those within it will employ the use of 'hot takes' in an attempt to stay relevant.
That's for sure. Was it Robbo who fabricated this ridiculous story about James Hird going back to coach Essendon? So many journos trying to get noticed. Speaking of which, hasn't Purple gone quiet lately? Maybe he is busy writing his memoirs?

Swings and roundabouts and all that. Collingwood always sells whether it’s good or bad. The club’s going well at the moment obviously and the current stories reflect that but it wasn’t that long ago that we were getting Nathan Buckley and Collingwood in crisis stories from every man and his dog every week.

Just had a WTF moment, when I read some media hysteria/hyperbole etc.

So some media guru is now trying to spark a comparison between Darcy Moore & Peter Knights, as bona fide Centre Half Back stars.

Moore has played 2 games there so far, albeit good games. And I sincerely hope that he remains injury free & realises his full potential.

But to compare him with Knights, one of the great CHB's of all times is ludicrous.

These lazy journos & so called experts, just pander to the Collingwood throng don't they???
You should write a long-winded email explaining your outrage to all media commentators.

The Richmond board has dedicated "no opposition supporters" threads strictly for the purpose of throwing terrible banter without others being able to throw anything back. Safe spaces don't get any safer than that.

Haha is that real?
It's a sad indictment on 2019 that it's a funy joke but could also be true.

This thread gets made every year with a different team in the title. Its pretty clear that Melbourne and Essendon are currently the main focus of the media right now.

Injury trolling and just general malicious banter in terrible taste runs rampant. Definitely one of the biggest cesspits on the internet that I’ve seen.

Why start any thread then....banter, discussion....really???
Ordinary (and prob biased) threads are still ordinary no matter what.

I always wonder why your club (and obviously you) can not get over Collingwood.

De Goey was better than Ablett Snr last time I heard, sounded legit.

Are they judging on field or off field ? ;)

Media in general are idiots with an agenda, pandering to whatever's in vogue at the time. The football public are not (or shouldn't be) sheep and swallow what the media attempt to feed them.

EFA.
I'd say mission accomplished.

The winners in sport arent determined by the medals and results sheets. They are determined by public perception. And sports journalists have by far the greatest impact in shaping that perception. Even more so than the results.

To say who cares about what sport journalists say is the equivalent of saying who cares about sport. It matters.

Sports journalists have convinced you Cyril Rioli was one of the elites. He was not even close. But the media convinced you he was so now the majority of the public believe it. No matter how poor his stats are and how often he got carved up by defenders.

I just finished listening to the Superfooty podcast where this may have come from. One person mentioned Moore being in All Australian form. Brian Taylor said he is playing well but not well enough for All Aus. For some reason Jon Anderson mentioned Peter Knights as the best high marking CHB. That was pretty much the discussion.
I wouldn't recommend the podcast but hey I am at work and got nothing else to do.

The OP is obviously just a Collingwood hater.
