Just realised this is no opposition supporters thread, sorry Gents and Ladies. I’ll sign off with my best wishes for you all to get Carlton’s No1 pick as the melts in the Vic media will be delicious
You’re bagging Carlton, you’ll fit in just fine

Usually it’s the wife deciding on my “privileges” and it’s certainly not weekly :)

Love to stay and play if it’s cool, thanks FR0GGY

Been a long time since I've had weekly privileges, these days its my birthday, xmas and for some strange reason Elvis's birthday. Go figure.

I don't think of it as a "rivalry" at all.

I agree after this year I could care less what happens with Carlton. This year is all about Carlton giving us Pick 1.

Carlton have been an irrelevant team in the AFL for a long while now and will remain to be so in the future.

Scorpus, I rate you as a poster, but seriously, if you are going to base finishing positions on the last 5 years it is severely flawed. How would you map the Dogs over the last 5 years, or even the Pies. Remember the Demons, bottom 2 in 2013-14? Things change quickly

We were always going to bottom out hard, when we cut experienced players over the last 3 years, to finally build some talent. I am a realist, so we will not finish in the 8 next year, nor will we finish bottom 2

Had a few bookmarked for a laugh.

There's no thread label for No Carlton Posters unfortunately but you can take it as given

You can see the headline now...

''AFL To Consider Pre-Draft Priority Pick''.

They'll give Carlton a priority zone selection in the exact zone the consensus #1 pick is from

It no opposition supporterS.

We’re allowed one.

There is no way the AFL will let us have pick 1. Zero.

They will invent some new category of picks so a club picks before us

There's nothing the AFL can do to stop us.

At this point I don't even think the AFL could take it away from us even if we were punished because we've already given up something for the trade. I remember a ruling back when the Tippett saga happened that any picks that were obtained via a trade can not be included in any AFL sanctions.

Since when do the AFL stick to their rules and not invent new ones on the fly?

They wouldn’t be taking it away from us. We’d still get Carlton’s R1 pick. It’s just that there would be a pre-R1 pick creates and given to Carlton.

That's not going to happen.

The AFL has seen the damage early priority picks does & would go down a similar path to last year with the Blues & GC.

Plus Carlton would have had pick 1, but traded it away.

They'll never reward a team with draft picks to replace the ones that they've have given away.

Unless you're a deluded Carlton supporter the trade has always looked like Pick 1-4 for Pick 10+. SOS trded away that pick knowing full well what the repercussions could be. I actually think there will be zero sympathy for them, there's no way that the AFL can justify giving them another pick after they were so quick to trade their original pick away.

Plus given the early success the Gold Coast have had with Collins and Burgess and the spotlight again on tanking, access to players will be the assistance going forward.
