Bloody marvellous win, most invested I’ve been in a game since the 2017 GF. Two things really stuck out for me. 1. We won the free kick count.... interstate.... unbelievable. 2. Still can’t get over Castagna’s handball. Actually would have been harder to miss his teammate but good on him for finding a way 😂. Seriously though, let’s roll with Baker, Bolton and Rioli for a while until Butler and Castagna figure out how to stop fumbling and wasting opportunities.

Watched Baker closely in the VFL practice match against Collingwood a few weeks ago and he was close to our best. Surprisingly tough and works his ass off. Need Houli and Dusty back to consolidate with wins against Sydney and Dees and then relaunch once Pup, Cotch are back firing. Found a couple in Stack and Ross which is a bloody great result.

Mate we asked for the Aznac Day eve game.
Pies-Dons do it every year.
Yeah minnows Dees play on our ground the same time the week before. That's the issue. They'd fit nice and snug in that silly comic book shop

I tend to agree that we should give Houli and Jack another week off.

In: Dusty (to play 70% forward, tell him to focus on pressure like a small)

Out: Castagna

  • I was a fervent supporter of tanking but this game has changed my attitude substantially. I'm fairly certain that this group has improved from last year. Our ins are not Miles, Lloyd or Conca, and despite their starting 22 statuses at their new clubs at the minute we all would rather have Ross, Stack and Balta.
  • I was displeased by the turnovers by Grimes and Stack after substantial defensive plays in the 4th qtr; then I watched Conca's efforts in the derby. High standards at 3121.
  • But nonetheless Grimes is stepping up to the Rance mantle.

  • I'm very happy Lynch kicked six because of the treatment that was given to him. I thought it was a bit harsh in the first half and glad he was vindicated. Clutch set shot at the end, with a great mark on the wing earlier in the quarter too.
  • Not surprised by Ross's contribution in the game. 25 disposals on 74% game time is out of this world though. Outperformed SPP, for one.
  • I don't share the same sentiment towards Graham - 5 clearances and 6 tackles is a fine effort and anything else is a bonus. If we're calling him out, imagine the vitriol if we had Wines - 1 tackle for a [formerly] much-celebrated inside midfielder.
  • Castagna is... enigmatic and noticeable. I would like to write about my admiration about his playing style at length one day. But this is his usual game, please stop calling for his head. As I like to put it, he raises more questions than answers for both teams. Outperformed Motlop.
  • We will win more often than not with Shane Edwards as a back-half playmaker.
  • We will win more often than not with Brandon Ellis as a front-half playmaker.
  • I love Josh Caddy. If you don't love Josh Caddy something is wrong with you and you need to go away.
  • Balta played less than half the game... we quite literally play with 21 1/2 when he's named. He had 10 disposals at 40% efficiency. So why do we still play him? Because he'll break the game open if you give him the chance. Remember the days of Addam Maric, Shane Tuck and Ricky Petterd with the green vest? Balta would have been the game's best sub.
  • What else... great effort. Always love defeating Port. There were a few flashbacks to that muddy afternoon in 2010 - young, desperate and almost hopeless. That's actually selling the club a bit shit.
  • Remember we have half of Gold Coast's original spine [Caddy, Prestia, Lynch, Weller] anyway. We'll be ok.

After the granny, just about Hardwick’s greatest win with the list we had out there but I think I am underselling the young cubs we have coming through, vfl team with another great win,the future is bright.

Truly great feeling tonight to be a Richmond supporter.

Grimes continues to be the GOAT

Tim Lunch what a nice young man, way to endear yourself to the club and the fans.

Ellis credit where credit is due, very very good today

Titch Bradbury Edwards played a fantastic captains game, have to be proud of that.

Jack Ross what a debut! Built for the contest, think we have been lacking that type and there is a spot for him consistently if he can maintain that kind of output.

Stackman a bit quieter than last week but still did a lot of good things, his endeavour is outstanding.

You could go on and on all day, fabulous win. tbh I think I’ve been a bit subconsciously eco since the granny even if my interest has been just as strong, hard to compare to those heights. But tonight the fire was well and truly back. CHARACTER

Sheds wins as captain,bloody magnificent.

Team effort today,the Richmond way.

So many players stood up and the younguns ,unbelievable happyness.

Now to not get ahead of ourselves and bottle today for next week.

Dusty will be like a ferocious Tiger out hunting without a feed for a week,I reckon he is gonna go bezerk next week in a good way.

Carna mighty Tigers!

We’ve had some good wins over the Swans.

Last one in 14 to seal the deal.
Collins knocked out.
Lloyd after the siren.
And coming from 30 points down at the SCG

I think today shades all.

I don't think it beats the 2014 9 in a row against minor premiers Sydney in Sydney to make the finals, but this win does edge the others listed in my opinion
