I think the issue is - whatever the approach - there just wont be enough people. Too many happy clappers, and casual fans.

The club survived the noise of Tippettgate, & the mind camp. The only thing that ever lights a fire under their arses is a prosperous pear.

Exactly, just think of all the happy clappers on here.

BF would represent the more hard core suporters who you would think would be more demanding/questioning the establishment.

Out in the bigger world the "back the boys in" - how dare you question the club sentiment would run close to 100%

The Club did not survive the noise from Tippertgate, but I not going to get into a discussion on that, Look at the turnover after that,
Re the mind Camp, look closer some good ins and a couple of outs with one forced to change his ways who may be out when his contract expires this year.

LOL, of course the idiots survived Tippettgate, how long after our sanctions did Trigg last - bloody years and Chapman is still there.

But yeah they didn't survive :drunk:

This is a pisstake surely.

This is a true happy clapper, he knows what our sanctions were, how Trigg misled the board, stuffed up the handling of it and yet still say they didnt survive.

Triggs eventual leaving had nothing to do with the fallout from Tippettgate, bizzare even a happy clappy could make this claim.

What I want is some fresh air in the place. There are too many people that have been there too long and have got too comfortable. We need new faces and new voices and new ideas in the admin and coaching departments. That doesn't mean you throw out every single person in the club, but it does mean you at least LOOK at them all. Anybody who has been there more than 5 years needs to be able to justify their position - "if you haven't been able to contribute to us winning a flag in the 5+ years you've already had, why should we believe you'll be able to do it at all?". I think that would be a difficult question for a lot of them to answer.

But the problem then comes down to who do you replace them with? There's a reason that just about every single person on the coaching / admin side are from South Australia (and mostly with a Crows background) - because it's bloody hard to prise good people out of Melbourne because any time one of them becomes available, he has any number of other Melbourne clubs more than willing to take him on without requiring him to uproot his family and move to Adelaide.

Our best bet is probably to try and pick off somebody decent from WA / Qld / NSW where there are fewer options. But we'll probably end up getting Hird because he'll be desperate enough for a job that he'll be willing to move, and no Melbourne club will touch him because they have enough other options available that they don't need to take on that kind of headache.

Fresh air Like, Changing the CEO, Getting a specialist List Manager, Changing the Football manager twice (last one a bit of a **** up), Changing Coaches, Changing the structure on recruiting then we have the more recent changes Changing the medical department structure at a bigger cost, Getting a couple of new Coaches, Getting the Football manager to do his job and not poke his nose into everyone else's
Did you also know that our Board has 9 members-only 3 who was on the board in 2013, Chapman, Hazel and Ricciuto 2014(who was a Member elected) As for the rest Fellows 2015, Jamerson 2015, Ellis 2017, Fennel 2017, McDowell 2017, and Ryder 2019.

Maybe not all the Best Changes but there are changes. and a Few I have missed.

Nothing so far from Fages this week, how long does it take to reset the mechanism?

Funny how he goes missing. He was up and about in previous weeks (AFLW flag and the city base funding announcement).

Read my post and have a closer look, there were changes, but because Chapman survived most believe nothing happened.
Trigg did not survive, by the way,

This is a pisstake surely.

I guess any anything that does not fit your and other agendas must be a pisstake.
But The Club did suffer after the Tippett sanctions, Financially and On the Field and if you do not believe that then ask yourself this, would we be a better club today with Cripps, he's the biggest player we missed out on.
And everyone closely involved is no longer at the club and new rule was put into place re-contract approvals. Read the word Closely, I will almost say anyone who knew about the shady deal.

But we believe what we want too regardless,
And I don't care because I vote, I attend AGM, I speak to the board and voice my concerns, I talk to the People at the heart of the problem.

If you read some of the social media, I think there is a now a significant proportion of the support base that is disillusioned, and would like to see change.

Getting them all on the same page, in a meaningful way... that's the challenge.

Well that was a shock. I emailed Fages and got a response one hour later. He thanked me for my passion. I criticised him for not giving Pyke the right support such as assistants and footy manager. He came back and said that the coach chooses his assistants. Ok then why were they being extended after Walsh's death before Pyke was even announced. He then came back and said they did a thorough search for a Footy Manager. Lol I dont believe that. How does he come back with Burton then. Surely there were better options. Hey Craigy would have better in that kind role than birdman. So lies and more lies I think.

Ofcourse the club suffered. No one at the club was held accountable is the point. You can say things have changed, but they havent.

Look at last year, mind camp, injury epidemic. Who got the arse?

You may be right there.

I have seen posts like the ones I described even up until recently, but most of the stuff after the North game is negative. I guess everyone has a breaking point.

I think Fages has the right intentions, unfortunately he relies on Roo for guidance re footy matters.

Roo "Yep Fages, we did a thorough search for Footy Manager, just happens it was someone who I know really well"

Bit of goal post moving going on here, of course the club suffered from Tippettgate via sanctions.

You said the "The Club did not survive the noise from Tippertgate" clearing infering the media/supporter backlash against the clubs ADMIN at the time.

The clubs admin did in fact survive the noise from Tippettgate.

Chapman is still there and Trigg lasted another two YEARS. (charged Nov 2012, finally left Aug 2014)

But yeh, the "noise" got him in the end.

Ofcourse the club suffered. No one at the club was held accountable is the point. You can say things have changed, but they havent.

Look at last year, mind camp, injury epidemic. Who got the arse?

We stuffed up the camp yes no disputing and our injury concerns were big,
But while we did not sack all involved on the injury front, As we only sacked the person using the data incorrectly, It what we did instead we got one of the best available to assist/run our fitness department.
And while we did not sack Burton who I believe had a contract, We did force our Football manager to do his job and not try to do everyone else job, Whether he survives this year is another matter and replacing him will not affect the soft cap as much as last year,
Personally, I don't think Burton survives this year. and we end up with a New Football Manager. and 2 new Assistant Coaches

I for one was certainly much happier before I discovered BigFooty was a thing.

Googling "why was Sando sacked?!" all those years ago was the beginning of the end for me.
I blame an American twitter friend who kept talking about BF Saints

Rather than a stupid boycott, wouldn't it be better showing at the AGM and voicing your concerns, Would paid up member fronting Head Office and asking question work better, Not attacking or abusing as most of the worker are not responsible for the team action on the field.
All I see in wingeing supporters would are more willing to throw the membership away than getting of the arse and do anything constructed.

Think about with a waiting list as big as the Crows have you stupid boycott would not work.
Yes I know a bunch of the BF lifers will now attack, But how about getting off your arse and supporting the club, and if that means change then push for it, Turn up at the club voice your dislike, Voice your dislike thru our elected members in Rod Jameson and Kym Ryder.

Can almost guarantee the Rod Jameson get voted in again this year, due to a lack of supporter actually voting, The same supporters who don't vote but bitterly complain about the direction of the club.

But yea let have a membership Boycott that will fix the issues, even if it cripples the club.
I see your point. When I made the post, I was of the view (and I still am partially) that they're a bunch of gravy trai passengers and the only way to make them take notice is to stop that precious money.

Believe me, if I get down to the AGM I have no hesitation in public speaking.

Rohan Hoppomotoawah (apologies Rohan ) the physio guy

That showed them!

And Fages response to my respsonse after calling him a liar below

We aren’t going to get far if you don’t believe me when I respond. It’s pretty disrespectful to effectively call me a liar. But I get it is borne out of frustration.

The fact is mate that Scott was reappointed by Pykey during Pykey’s term as Head Coach. He is his choice as a senior assistant, is well regarded by Pykey, the team and the industry more broadly.

If you aren’t already a Head of Football, what is the background they should have? 50% of the program is high performance / fitness etc. Brett is an expert in this. He has also played at the highest level, is extremely strong managerially, was a former head of the AFL Players Association and was also highly regarded by the AFL for his work on their Laws of the Game Committee. His work ethic is unquestionable, his passion huge and I have rarely seen someone comes to work each day with a more committed approach to self improvement.

I’m not here to do his bidding, but his combination of personal qualities and work and industry experience makes him well qualified for the role of Head of Football. He was the best available candidate after a thorough search that included input from the AFL on potential options (and a recommendation from the AFL Head of Football as well). It doesn’t make him perfect either. None of us are.

This is a brutal industry and we are all big boys and understand that everyone has an opinion and that will often come with criticism. We have had 3 years of finals including a GF and then 12 wins last year but missed having a shot at the prize we all want.

That’s a fairly decent body of work by comparison to most but falls short of where we set our goals and you set yours. We had a really positive pre season but clearly have been challenged early.

We will continue to review hard and hold ourselves accountable on a daily basis to finding improvement and the wins you and I both want.

We have all of the information and we are working hard mate.

Again, appreciate the feedback. Always willing to acknowledge it.

Gotta go now though. Here’s hoping for a response this Sunday.

But yeh, the "noise" got him in the end.

We are still feeling the effect of the tippet issue,
And the Club did move on several of the people involved in the issue. Admin did change, Structures did change, rules did change
Remember the formation of the Club’s Professional Standards and Integrity Committee, Most forget about that, and they made several recommendations Some took longer to implement, yes, but they still happened because of the stuff re Tippett.

But who cares because it's now 2019 and more 3/4 of the board have changed, there have been personell change's in the Admin Area including CEO, Football manager, Coach, List Manager.
And Crows are no longer governed by the SANFL
I will Worry about 2019.

Rohan Hoppomotoawah (apologies Rohan ) the physio guy

That showed them!
Yea that the guy was he the guy who made some calls on the Kanga tech data,
And who did we get to replace him, That alone was one of the most important decision the Crows have made. yea that showed them.

CEO - 4 years 7 months and ''locked in''
List Manager - 4 years 6 months
David Noble poached 2016. Otherwise there is a good argument that he is still in the chair
Brett Burton followed David Noble - appointed Nov 2016 ( so not twice) - as a point of interest he hasnt changed his LinkedIn page saying he is at Brisbane
Changing coaches? Really you are going to include this? Walsh 2015 . Pyke 2016-
Hamish Ogilvie - 13 years - and in any review this guy keeps his job!
Changing the medical dept? Bringing in Steve Saunders? To fix the ****-up of his invention. Thats our major change?
Getting a couple of new coaches? Well why is that? Teague left and Franco left. You seem to be close to the club. Why did Franco leave?

Ellis, Fellows , Fennel , McDowell and Ryder all have as much football experience as I do , and I bet Ryder and me are the leading footballers of this group

Yea that the guy was he the guy who made some calls on the Kanga tech data,
And who did we get to replace him, That alone was one of the most important decision the Crows have made. yea that showed them.
Why didnt we get Saunders in the 1st place? Why didnt we ensure the data was being read correctly? Any manager worth his salt would have asked those questions in March 2018 not sack the bloke in October

I'll give him credit for answering, and respect to you for asking the questions; can you ask a couple of follow ups?

1. If Camporeale was Pyke's choice, why we were talking to Sumich?
2. Why didn't Sumich come?
3. Why were we talking to Longmuir?
4. Why didn't Longmuir come?

5. Did anything Burton did at Brisbane suggest that he'd be an effective footy ops manager? If he is an expert on fitness, how do they explain the massive injury toll at Brisbane, and then ours last year; and why did we bring Saunders in?
6. Why, as one of the best resourced Clubs in the league, did we go for a rookie footy ops manager with no proven performance in this critical role? Surely a Club such as ours can do better than that?
7. Do we have a policy in place that we will not violate the footy ops cap; if so, why? Does this policy align with your commitment to deliver and industry leading footy ops department; and how successful do you believe you have been in fulfilling this?

Actually, the bolded ones are the only ones that need an answer - as the answer to them will answer the rest.
