soft draw or not, someone is doing something right for them to already win as many games as they did last year.

I'm glad someone said it, considering the players they are missing. Stick Carlisle back in and they haven't lost a game and on their way to another DVD set.

Carlisle is a complete spud. They're better off without him.

Hopefully St Kilda can win 10 in a row.

We all remember what happened the last time that happened:

Beat the crows and Carlton, both home games and they could go to Shanghai probably with a 6-4 record. Can't see them beating Collingwood or GWS but playing West Coast at Docklands in between these 2 games at Docklands will be interesting.

Bottom line, the Shanghai game shouldn't be a dull meaningless game like against the GC the last 2 years.

Hardly. He's easily their best KPD and a genuine swing player going forward. Yeah he is prone to getting the sulks but he's a good footballer.

Nah he is over rated. They've got a premiership winning fullback, don't need him.

To be honest yes, Adelaide are more like a county football team that is hyped up by the local paper.
We are always a chance to do them no matter how bad we are going.
Geelong on the other hand
Yeah I'm with you there - just 1 win against the Cats since 2007. They always find a way against us: hopefully round 14 will be different.

I’m not underestimating them. I’m saying when they play teams that can do it better than they can they’ll get exposed.

Let's put it this way - the only statistical category the Saints lead is tackles and they are top four for clearances. That means they've gone down the route of making it a slog around stoppage and breaking away at speed. When their bodies get beat up on the inside and the legs don't want to work anymore during June/July/August, they are going to fade into nothing.

Or to put it another way - Collingwood, Geelong, Port Adelaide and GWS all have a contested possession differential of 10+ or greater.

St Kilda are -0.2.
Yea look it wouldn't surprise me if they hit the wall in the middle to back end season slog but they look fit and more seasoned to me they have some strong bodies.

We had a Premiership winning ruck that couldn't get a game ahead of Matthew Lobbe.

Brown is ok but not the same player he was before injuries.

They have done alright vs GWS recently, I wouldn't write that off.

If they get confidence in their game up they will be able to push through the wall. Early wins, like us in 2013.

Caught most of the arvo game, Membrey is playing some bloody good footy up forward for the Saints and am also really impressed with Battle and Acres who are developing superbly.

Could be pissing down tomorrow arvo for Crows game so that I think gives them a big leg up with bigger bodies. In saying that everytime the bureau has forecast rain lately that's not a PAFC game day it hasn't come so it'll probably be bone dry.

I find that offensive.. we have more heart and REAL clubs in the country.

I think I read once that the only St Kilda coach to last six seasons or more is Alan Jeans.

Richo is in his sixth season.

You think they are going to make finals when they are 2 games and 14 percent behind 8th spot?

Let’s put it another way. Of the four teams that Adelaide have played, they lost to the two teams above them at home and split the two teams below them.

The season is already over.

Yeah the problem Adelaide and similar teams face this year is just how many teams are staking a finals spot.

The way I see it the following teams are either playing too well or have too much of a home ground advantage to miss: Geelong, West Coast, Collingwood, GWS, Richmond

Then there are a few other teams that are playing good footy at times and could compete heavily for spots: Essendon, Port, Hawthorn

Then you have teams that have come from nowhere but are actually banking points and playing decent footy, and most of these teams will have an easy draw as the season progresses: Freo, Gold Coast, Sainters, Brisbane, Bulldogs

That's already 13 teams listed. Ordinarily you can put a line through most of these sides by round 5, but this year it's much harder to do so. For a team like Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne or Norf to make it in, they have to beat out SIX of the clubs listed above. It's theoretically possible, but it just feels so unlikely, it's a tough road back.
