A little said about Duncan, but less about Kolo.

Both are playing very well. Duncan is consistent + reliable, great stats against Hawks - 25 Disposals + someone mentioned excellent DE%. He's definitely a quiet achiever.

Kolo has improved this year. Thought he was terrific on Wingard, which is an achievement. Seems more confident in his feet, or found his feet, some lovely dodging around oppo players in the last few weeks. Kolo looks more settled + seems to have recognised or cemented his role in Defence.

It’s on the AFL replay on the website. But it went sour when Rohan kicked those two goals just before qtr time. Stopped doing it.

His players' hands are harder than Gyprock 😜

The Hawthorn fans were booing Ablett last year as well, I remember it clearly. The media has really beaten this up.

There was a sick feeling when I heard BT and TW pick this up and run with it... as immediately I thought they wil lock this in and make it a Goodes like week after week. The way its been spun by media , all this has done by linking the "Like" to the current game noise is give some idiots a feeling of righteous self entitlement.

I agree however ..if they were better than being so superficial and went and had a look at past games ..he has been booed for many a game. The was a game last year(Haw? Not sure)where it was so clear the commentors mentioned why was it happening had he done something.. then it was just put down as him being a great player. Yesterday , I think it was SHocking on the afl website , mentioning that he was booed in the 08 GF ..I cant remember that to be honest.. but if so .. it shows it has a very tenious link to the "like" or that he left Gold Coast (which is another I heard mouthed)

Nothing about Tomahawk from MRO, so he's clear! Stupid the way Sissilly flopped

EDIT: Hawkins was fined $2,000, small price to pay, especially as Sissilly is a flog!

So because Hawthorn were missing a whole heap of important players the game still matters cos hey the games are normally close?

What?

You just said that our big ground problem has been addressed, so I don't know what that has got to do with me being happy or unhappy about the teams progress this season? I just said the big ground problem hasn't been addressed.

We don't know whether it has or not, it just appears to have not been as big an issue in the first two games there. Very small sample as I said.

[Our ball movement out of defence is still poor(extremely dependent on Clark) and our midfield defends poorly against teams with good run and carry.

Pretty sure I said there is plenty to work on. Still a number of areas of concern. Most sides do have issues with quick movement.

Have you got examples of goal post shifting? cos otherwise it's just a bs saying by people without an argument

I didn't say you had.

I don't rate April premierships, especially when they turn into first quarter prelim thrashings.

Don't think anyone does.

...
Still, we live in a country where we’re free to express what we think. Like it or not, Folau is allowed to express his opinion, which also included other minorities. Booing Gaz is a type of religious vilification. But there is more outrage paid to Folau + Gaz liking his post, than the media looking at their own hypocrisy.
I hate to get too distracted, however...
Folau has been free to express his views via the internet for years. In the last year he has put out dozens of posts promoting his religious beliefs, but...his last post transgressed his agreement with his employer the RUA which had expected him to abide by the Code of Conduct and not to vilify or denigrate sections of the community. Since Folau had promised to do so then broke his promise that would make him a "liar", and he had accepted big chunks of money on the basis that he would play and respect the expectations of his employer in regards to social media which might be argued that he accepted money on false pretenses making him a "thief"; based on his own beliefs that might mean he will burn in hell forever and ever and ever and ever...perhaps he can get redemption from a blessing from George Pell, who according to Folau is acceptable for his god's paradise. OK enough! No more on this issue from Steady.

I think the Folau issue stops here please. Lets focus on the game and the excellent win....and Gazza's fabulous form.

To think some thought his recruitment a mistake. The bloke is an absolute star.

When he received the ball 60 out and ran into the forward 50 it was shut the gate.

Was there any doubt.......

This stuff is really interesting each week, thanks for taking the time to compile and share.

Not sure what other cat's fans think, especially the ones that were at the game like i was.
Once we got that buffer early in the second then it got out to 5 goals a couple of times....I thought one or two more to break it wide open, the margin could have blown out to a 10g win. Credit to the dawks for hanging in there, but 23p seemed unders tbh.

Kolo has been really tidy. He's a confidence and role player. Has been lost at times in the past pushing up on the wing or being leftover with the 5th-6th forward. Also people forget he's collected some experience but has by no means had a lot of responsibility for a long time. Some players need a few seasons to shore elements up. I'm confident we're going to see some very good things over the next few years from Kolo. Ironing out the inconsistency he tends to get later in seasons is number one on the agenda. With some more skillful players around him rather than a Lonergan, a Bews, a slow moving Henderson - his weaknesses will be better hidden.

Was a great game, love beating poothorn. Was great to watch team footy the boys are flying they never give up. Also Stanley had his best game was great to see him slot a couple.
Selwood is a freak, unbelievable that fella.

Agree about Stanley...I thought he was good....

Love all of that MrM
You’ve made very salient points.
Our Back Line is more solid.
Midfield, considering the Holy Trinity, needs consolidation/cohesion.
Forward Line improved well so far.
Hopefully all positions will click + players like Kolo find their feet + excel.

Utter piffle.

I’d say so.

Looked up weagles’ first ten rounds last year and they were 9/1 including beating the highly fancied Rich. Probably on top of the ladder. Not sure. So early round performance is a little indicative of where clubs could be.
