**** the narrative. Your mob booed when Pendles was receiving the ANZAC Day medal. Show some respect

Yeah I'm sure not booing would help all those that have served sleep at night....

The fact the AFL try to latch on to the day for commercial benefit doesn't mean anyone is expected to uphold any standard of behaviour that they don't for a normal game.

I'm sorry but didn't Essendon get 2 free kicks right in front of goal that the commentators were laughing at? How come that part isn't mentioned when bringing up the umpires ?

As opposed to the Baguely mark paid to Howe? Or the two Tippa high tackles thirty metres out or the 40 times you threw ball in a tackle or dropped it. How about the two times every player stopped because the free kick was so obvious yet weren’t paid. Yeah those two shit frees certainly make up for that.

I had no issues with it, was clearly directed towards the AFL and those ridiculous rat-crap umpires. Anyone who watched the game knew why they were booing.

It says alot though when Collingwood win a ANZAC game and the anger of the Bombers supporters can completely drown out the cheers of the Pies supporters -clearly showed the sentiment at the ground, and the entire footy public to be quite honest, its completely unanimous among all footy fans that the umpiring ruined any chance of that being a fair contest.

There's a time and place to boo though. Booing pendles while he was talking is just uncalled for.

They are not booing pendles.. They were booing the result as they felt it was due to umpiring decisions.

Imagine the epl, or la liga etc telling the fans they can't boo a player etc.. They wouldn't dare even try.. Ever been to the nba.. The booos can be defeaning..

That they are happy to show disrespect to those who have served? Time and place to boo. Umps had been off the field for a few minutes and when the RSL rep started speaking the crowd should have shown some respect not continued booing. Especially on a day like today ffs.
It’s the court of public opinion
It wouldn’t matter what the occasion was

relax Baugley's goal was a fuken ripper, well deserved free

in all honesty though, that 'block' free kick we got, cant remember the players involved but was in our 50, probably the worst decision ive seen this year besides the sicily one which I think will never be beaten

Yes I get that, but surely they can at least let the Anzac Day medalist speak?

You’re incorrect on all your points. You might want to look up the meaning of unanimous.

Umpires were long gone. Pendlebury was being presented with the ANZAC medal and was speaking and acknowledging both teams. It was disrespectful and dumb by the Essendon fans. If you think it was ok, you really need to take a look at yourself.
I didn't say it was Ok.

I'm just trying to understand how you managed to believe that Buckley did anything other than embarrass himself with his comment.

It was as clear as day that the Essendon ferals were filthy with the final minute of umpiring. They'd been booing the entire time since the missed 'incorrect disposal' in their D50.

It clearly was not booing of Pendlebury.

For Buckley to say what he did is so stupid for four reasons:

Everyone knew that the booing wasn't directed at Pendlebury.

Who gives a shit if some morons in the crowd boo? These same deadshits rock up each week and cheer like cretins every week - which is why people like Buckley even have a job. Yet when cretins act like cretins, he's upset about it??

Thirdly, why should you be ashamed of booing a champion, but not an ordinary player? What does that have to do with it? Is it Ok to boo a plodder?

And lastly, booing when the whole point of the ANZAC Day game is about commemorating the soldiers and their spirit and sacrifice is outright woeful. Not surprising given thethe aaverage football fan, but very poor nonetheless. Yet Buckley missed that point entirely. Instead he calls shame on them, because they booed a champion!!

The frustration with Pendles was his drawing that high free kick & flopping like he'd been shot. Very dangerous action from a player who should know better.

So thousands of Essendon fans booed Pendlebury during his speech because they were concerned he could have hurt himself earlier?

They're mindless cretins (the same ones that had a cry when Watson and Hird were booed). What else can you expect?

**** me even David King knew the place was unstable, he referred to the ground as a tinder box due to the umpiring.
If you're defending the umpires i know for a fact you didn't watch the game and if you didn't watch footy on ANZAC Day then you're a campaigner.

Corrupt.

Is this the thread where we get to all heap shit at one set of supporters?

I understand the frustration of Essendon supporters as that game was awfully umpired. But at the same time, Scott Pendlebury didn’t deserve the reception he received, and Buckley nailed it with his acceptance speech.

Would be nice if the discussion could turn to a legitimate one around the degrading quality of the umpiring as opposed to supporters just slinging shit at each other.

Afl is done if there is going to be a press conference about booing at games.

Will the opposite teams cheers quad no longer be able to boo and wave distracting flags when a player is having a shot at goal in front of them??

Where does it stop..

Boo to you're hearts content...

Doesn't look good for Essendon there. They're lucky to be able to play on ANZAC day. I don's see how a few dodgy decisions in the last minute 'cost them the game' - they were butchering the ball so much its unlikely taking possession would have helped. The booing just makes them look like absolute minnows.
Dylan Shiel - c'mon down...
