Plenty of sides haven't won since 02.

we've won 2.

Once we get building again I reckon we'll get going.

But yes it will take longer this time.

18 sides... half is 9... few multiple flag winners... reckon we can win one within 12 years

Just because Ur a rich and successful club doesn't mean it will just happen.

Carlton fans were equally arrogant and confident in 2002..

Beware hubris.

The way your club is being managed at the moment, I wouldn't be that cocky if I were you.

You need to make some big changes first and that starts by getting rid of Ur list manager.

I'm not cocky. far from it.

I'm just saying the wheel will turn.

Hopefully when we're up there we snag one.

Three years of free money.

He doesn't give a s**t if he's fit or not.

Club pays him because he sells merch.
100% He needed to be managed better.

He will have 1 last crack at it early in 2024 and that's it.

He's been an amazing player and unlucky with timing of knee injuries.

If he had won a flag in 18 he would've retired by now I reckon

What crap
3 years was stupid for a bloke at his age, injury profile and body shape
Absolutely stupid.
Idiotic in fact

But sure defend your boys.
He didn’t get a three-year deal, he got a two-year deal off the back of two AA years. Try to know the facts before you wind up and go off. That said, there was no reason not to go for one-year deals.

But I was responding to your suggestion he was lazy and didn’t give a shit. Which is not true.

Won't just turn because of your past success

Club seems overly comfortable in its own bathwater.
Agree.

But I still think once we start rebuilding, we can start pushing top 4, top 2 and have a crack at a GF.

Nothing's guaranteed

I agree though. The club feels like it's happy to keep raking in the cash over results

Blaming bad luck for injuries is just a joke, these same injuries have been occurring to the same players for the last 3 years.

Fortunately they've tanked at the right time this year.

Should trade pick 1 to the roos for pick 2, ports 1st & a future 2nd.

Then trade pick 2 to gold coast who will look to trade up to get ahead of a bid for Walters for pick 7 and a future first and a 2nd.

Trading pick 1 for for 3 1st and 2 2nds.

WCE have literally had to pull blokes out of retirement just to make up the numbers in their WAFL team, they've been so decimated.

This is almost unprecedented in the number of injuries they've copped.

Easy to say 'sack the coach, boot out half the list', but it's not really anyone's fault they've run into a once-in-a-generation freak injury list.
2015-2017 Suns was awful. We ended up sacking / retooling our medical department. Our seconds team literally had to call up the team’s mascot to play we were so injury ravaged. Just to make numbers. All the while the media were sinking the boots in.

Basically, feel for the Eagles. Been where they are.

Didn't they finish 17th last year? So "once in a generation" two years running? That's a strange coincidence I guess.

Sorry but it's shit list management.

Why give NicNat 3 years when everyone knows he's injury prone and his body shape screams injuries.

I'm really torn between taking Reid and getting quantity.

Reckon we'll take Reid due to FOMO.

But really like Duursma and McKercher so if we could get a couple of gun kids over 1 I wouldn't say no

The injuries are one thing but my god have Gaff, Shuey and Darling shown their age this year playing.

They have looked horrific this year. Almost all 3 should be considering being moved if they have any value or just retiring.

Desperately need to rebuild. The list profile has been too old the last few years and they’ve really neglected getting games into some guys over the past 5 years.

It’s unfortunate but they haven’t hit the draft hard enough and all their stars have fallen off a cliff at the same time heading into retirement.

Hindsight says they should’ve moved at least a couple on or prioritises getting games into other kids.

Bullshit… he was AA in 2020 and 21 and he’s always aggressive when he’s on the field.
He’s a good player, but he’s had 2 knee recos, he relies on his athleticism and he’s not young anymore. Your season 2022 was the worst in the club history. You have to make tough calls. 2 more year of Nic is not good list management. I would have expected more ruthlessness from a WC organisation that has been a leader in this realm for a long time. McGovern is maybe a better example of a perennial injury prone player. Easily my favourite West Coastling of all time. But where does he fit in context to next premiership? West Coast would have benefited more than Hawthorn with a solid list cull.

Even with Nic winning AAs we did stuff all.

He would've been bandaid on a broken leg this year

It really would've been just to send him off with a longer highlight reel

It's time to move on.

Actually our rucks seems decent moving forward

They need to rebuild their strength and conditioning team

It's snowballed out of control now because they need to rush back/play underdone senior bodies, but you've gotta wonder WTF they were doing in the pre-season. This many soft tissue injuries can't just be bad luck.
so in the pre season everyone was flying.

No injuries.

We were 1-1 heading into Rd 3 (unlucky to not be 2-0.. lost to NM by 3 pts)

Then the injuries started v Freo.

One theory is we weren't physically ready for the gruelling pre season after a few years of poor standards and the injuries came they came in spades.

I'm hoping after another pre season the guys are ready to roll in 2o24.

Duursma looks awesome. Has everything.
If you can get a couple of those guys as you say, might be worth it at the expense of Reid.
