Round 16 Deathride

Sydney vs Bulldogs
Gold Coast vs Melbourne
Hawthorn vs North in Lonny
Richmond vs Adelaide

Would be handy for these teams to get the win this week. All of them are at least an outside chance, surely. How many will go our way?

This was my first and last deathride. Shit, even WC did well.

23k at the Tigers game, 38k last night for the Pies. Shows how inflated Vic club crowds are when half the paying fans are going for the opposition.

Meanwhile we had a relatively modest 41k today which in all honesty was slightly disappointing, after 3 consecutive games at Optus.

The Pies v West Coast game was weird quite differently ordered but overall mostly in agreeance.

Our game was a good example of coaches valuing different things I reckon.
Ross taking the piss giving Garcia 2nd best on.

How in the heck does a second rate Eagle like Clay Hall get the Rising Star nomination for round 16 ahead of Tauru, who was just amazing for the Saints? Bizzare choice.

The AFL have rocks in their head. I'm pretty sure the guy broke the record for the most amount of spoils ever done by a St Kilda player, in his second game!
How on earth could the AFL miss that.

Because they decided to not include the stat of spoils in normal info. Therefore it's 22 disposals vs 9 & all of Tauru's hard work is not recorded unless you have access to champion data.

It annoys me, they need to include/score them in Supercoach, AFL Fantasy too as a spoil is a backmans bread and butter. It would make it easy to see a good game from some of the big defenders.

Garcia was awesome, completely rattled a far more talented player in Serong for 3 and a half quarters and never ever gave up an inch. Out worked, out ran and out tackled many of our far more talented (and much more experienced and highly paid) mids.

I get folks on here (especially folks who were under 20 when the club was formed and didn't live the early years) have irrational seething hatred for Lyon, despite him being our best ever coach and getting us to our only grand final and our only prelims.

Even given that hate level, to suggest Ross was the only one that gave Garcia any coaches votes, and at the same time implying Garcia was not one of the best 4 players on the ground across the whole game, is just blinkered illogical rubbish.

Tom Lynch is gonna have a long holiday.

He just Reece Conca'd a Crow.
He’s a grub.
BUT

The scragging of forwards is getting out of hand. Amiss just gets held all game, Treacy gets shoved out of contests. It happens every game every week for full forwards

Cuddles Connolly got us to a prelim on the back of 9 wins in a row to end the season back in 2006. We ran into Sydney, who went on to lose the GF to the Evils (a team we had beaten by 10 goals in that 9-game streak) by 1 point.
