While that would be a handy player to have, is that really a first round type?

Kid had a pretty impressive Championships and he has featured in most lists of first round prospects.

Put it this way if he slipped out of the first round .... thank fu(k we have the first pick in round two.

Never been a fan of mid sized forwards, they always seem to get found out at AFL level unless they have an elite trait to their game.

Think Curtis Taylor, Max Gruzewski, Sam Sturt types.

Always seem super talented then just die in the AFL because they aren't a tall, they aren't a small, and so they just end up being lame. Jury is out on Moir.

Gunston is a special type. Soz Monocle.

Same height as Logan Morris

One of those three names does not belong in the same sentence.

Time will tell, but I think the kid has AFL qualities that will see him make it at the next level.

Some of these kids will have grown a few cms this year, which could make a big difference to their perceived likely AFL position. IIRC they’re measured at the combines.

Some serious love for the SA boys this draft, and for good reason.

Trade pick 2 plus Ryan to the Bombers for 5 and 6. Dons love Duursma.

Trade 19 and 34 to either the Suns or Blues for 8 or 9. (Or we burn them😎)

Hit the draft with picks 1, 5, 6, 8 and 14 plus land our NGA's.

1 Sharp
5 Cumming
6 M March
8 Baker
14 Le Ray

Thankyou SA for solving our midfield issues.

Rodreguez at 14 would be more likely but hey, it still a pretty good hand. And wanted a royal flush for dramatic impact.

Zero Hanger August rankings.

-Duursma-CDT 1-2 which I like for a trade with Essendon or Richmond
-Phillipou making a move, expect him to be heavily considered by Saints, would they trade 7 for 12 and 21 if Phillipou is going to get to 12?
-SA program has to be applauded
-Sharp at 12 seems very low considering his output
-Fred at 31 would be a great get at our 2R but I suspect Freo swoop with their 1R

Top of the draft to me looks like:

#1 WCE-Duursma
#2 WCE-Sharp
#3 RICH-Duff-Tytler
#4 RICH-Lindsay
#5 ESS-Greeves
#6 ESS-Schubert
#7 GCS-Cumming
#8 STK-Phillipou
#9 HAW-Grlj
#10 CARL-Dovaston
#11 SYD-NHH
#12 WCE-Marsh

Word is we are chasing trades for more 1st round picks.

From the above picks 5, 6, 7, 10 and 11 IMO would all be on the trade table due to bid matching potentially wiping them out and Essendon's desire to upgrade.

I can see us being quite involved in trading for some of those picks one way or the other.

Given how many picks Richmomd took last year, would if we try swapping our F1 for pick 3 (4 aftwr Oscar compo).

Trade points to GC for Ports pick 8

With 3 picks before Essendon, i could see this getting done as they want Duursma (reportly). Trade 2 and 12* for 5 and 8

Leaves us with 1,4,5 and 8 plus NGA

This is a lazy take even by your standards DS. There there are plenty of examples of players being 189cm to 193cm making it at AFL level.

How about we do a list of midfielders or KPP that have been busts and then make a claim that these types don’t make it at AFL level unless they have “elite traits in there game”. It’s pretty easy to do.

Just because he was listed as 191cm at the start of the year doesn’t mean he can’t make it at AFL level.

Outside of all of that he could also have grown an inch or two by the draft and be considered a KPF.

Don't trade out of the very top end of what is looking like a higher level top end next year to move it into this year.

aside from bf chatter is there actually any legitimate sources on dons wanting willem?

On Gettable, apparently Norf looking at Starcevich for the midfield.

More midfielders? Gee whiz.
Unless they're honeytrapping him to throw him back down back when the experiment fails, I don't see what they gain from this at all.

It's very weird.

Unless Riley got it mixed up, because a minute or so later he said North would be looking to boost their defensive stocks, which would make far more sense.

Maybe the old "rotating through the midfield" chestnut.

Code for... the odd 5 minutes here or there but back down back for you sunshine

Lindsay cumming consistently top 10 in most rankings.

Grij looked very good for tigers.

I wouldn't want to be giving up 1 and 2. Have to keep one of them.

I'd be open to keeping 1 but splitting 2 for a double bite.
