I don't think anyone is arguing that we made him a monster offer but 11 years x 1.7m when you have our highest paid player which is likely Sicily on 1m per season up until 2027. I just find those numbers very hard to believe and as good as he might end up becoming I think that many years on that coin would upset the apple cart with our other players. Also ff we truely offered 11 years x 1.7m then Harley Reid would be in Hawthorn colours come round 1 2025.

Pretty sure the most amount of years we've ever given out in the history of the club was the 6 year deal given to Battle. FWIW I'm not really arguing the $$$ but more so rather the years.

Still a little flat we missed out on him tbh as it would've generated a lot of excitement and belief leading into next year. Am sure he'll become the superstar we all expect him to be, but as it stands he remains more hype than substance – so 11 years on that kinda money is hard to justify.

Just to clarify - my post indicates he’s happy to the idea of being back in Victoria next year (never said to which club)
Noise surrounding “whether he stays at Port in ‘26 or seeks to come home” has not really been a thing, as there has been no strong indication which way he is leaning. But I can say the tide is turning (guess we will find out soon enough)

Well Essendon are definitely not interested in being the trade period premiers now that Dodo has left - someone has to take the mantle.
