So when is D.Pearce being announced as moving into a senior coaching role for the mens team? Preferably midfield please 🙏

She's too elite with our AFLW side as it is. The passion/energy she's generating is ridiculous, and would only be effective as a head coach - doubt the same aura would come if she was just assistant coaching under Mini.

Would want to see her lead us to our first AFLW premiership before looking at anything else - and from the vibes I get, she's in it for the long haul. Players worship her and she's been getting results, our best appointment in over a decade. Our last few games (come from behind wins) have been won through tactics, confidence and team buy-in IMO.

If she was to do anything for the men's team I'd much rather a part time role in a leadership area (if she has time for it). Work with players like Hough, Ginbey, Hewett who'll be future leaders of the team on their messaging/communication to the squad, I strongly suspect that stuff is an area where elite figures in women's sport likely exceed their male counterparts.

Tactically though I'd want a Sam Mitchell style appointment, someone who's been around recently in the men's game and knows stoppages and the competition inside and out.

Will be interesting to see how the Women go in the next bracket of games. Starts to get a little tougher now.

She has spoken about this on Sen with Goss. Didn’t seem too interested about switching at this stage. Not that she would publicly even if she was when you’re trying to get a young team to fully buy in which she seems to have got.

Just announced officially Webster is coming to Port.
Thoughts on him?
Some people around here seem to hate him, probably because he's been at the club while it's down, but they also ignore that he has been with the club through the successful era also and the players seem to think highly of him.

I think he's a decent appointment. Change of scenery will do him good.

He won't be missed, another one that was promoted upwards. That tosser Josh Carr is welcome to him.

He's been one of our more anonymous coaches over the years so hard to say what he was like as a coach but players seemed to like him - I saw a fair few of them posting their farewells over instagram when he left so he must have some value.

I suspect it's probably somewhere in the middle and he doesn't really move the needle in either direction for both of our outgoing and incoming clubs.

If he was so good and successful as an assistant and so well liked by the players then why was he let go. ?

Looks like we'll be competing with Freo to find an Innes replacement. Unless of course we can poach this guy, but the "interstate" club interest sounds like it rules us out

Very nice. And I respect him not taking an easy few hundred grand to 'play' for one year. He had an incredible career at Geelong so he didn't need to add a 10+ game stain at West Coast to his glittering career.

Hopefully we can get Harry Taylor into an official coaching role too - backline position is vacant and pretty sure he was doing it anyway.

Getting people from programs like Geelong is a big win so Duncan ✅
Duncan has basically been doing it all year for the cats on the boundary line I believe so it’s not like he’s brand new to it. It’d be something he’s been working on behind the scenes last year or so

Duncan wants to reunite with the GOAT Daisy Pearce. She can mentor him in the coaching game.

She'll probably have Cameron and Holmes lining up for us Round 1 next season, all the while curing Partington's Disease on the side.
