Cracks might be starting to appear... Damn. Vision doesn't look good. She wasn't doing anything, just standing in the stands with her telephoto lens.

When Baz was being massaged his shorts were down + a towel was covering his good bits.

He objected to being photographed in that situation. So the question is: Was it really necessary for her to take photos in that situation? Did he feel vulnerable? Is he worried about a niggling injury so close to finals + did he just go off for those reasons?

Or, should the work on him have been done in the rooms?

I don’t know if treatment, during training, is usually done in stand/ground, or if it’s usually done in the rooms?

He did savage her, harshly.

If the situation was reversed + a male photographer took photos of a female player, in the same situation, I reckon there’d be protests.

Anyhooo, Baz has apologised.

Scott apologised.

In regards to yesterday's photographer - it's not the first time Smith has had words with her or other female journalists at media invited training sessions this year

We know that the GFC media team reached out to her during the training session, while Hocking reached out with a formal apology later in the day in regards to yesterday

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a bit of talk with Bailey behind closed doors about his repeated little incidents with female journalists at these training sessions, and a reminder that they've been invited to do their job just as he is doing his job during training

Alison is a Geelong local, she's been with the Geelong Addy for 25 years, covering the football amongst other local activities and no doubt she'll be invited to the next open training session

If Bailey is going to get frustrated by journalists & photographers (seems especially female ones), then he may need to decide if he should be out on the field during that session or working inside

Or ask for any treatment where his shorts are down + a towel is covering his good bits, while working on his back, be done in the rooms.

Frankly, it’s de trop to take photos when someone is in that situation.

He’s just a shill for the afl and media I’ve noticed. Anytime the afl say something he agrees. Case in point they did a poll for listeners if a “wildcard” round should be brought in, was like a 76% no vote yet he kept talking it up saying it’s a great idea. Doesn’t care what the fans want if the afl want it or say something he always says they’re right
I have never heard of Dwayne Russell.

It definitely won’t just be forgotten. The nuffies are adding this to their list on things we’ve supposedly gotten away with.

It’ll be forever bought up especially next week and used against us when convenient.

It's weird. If these things happened to any other club, I wouldn't care one bit to be honest. But the frothing by so many opposition supporters whenever we're mentioned or we do something has reached unhealthy levels.

I guess 20 years of Geelong being a successful club does that.

Imagine the tears if we win the flag!

Just saw a clip from Fagons presser - when asked about the big O from a female reporter, He was quite rude to her about the question.
Are the media going to jump on him now?

Just went and watched this and you are right, very rude and patronising. I assume this will generate 400+ posts on the main board and condemnation from all footy reporters? 🤔

Getting harder to have a normal conversation with a neutral these days.
They just go into full blown nuff mode.

I'd love to be confident about the Prelim, but there's a reason we haven't beaten this team in a knock-out final in half a century.

They go about it the right way and they make the most of their appearances with a winning culture.

I'm excited for the game and the opportunity. I really do think we're the better team.

What's the reason? This week's match will have nothing to do with previous encounters. It will be tough but not because history says so. They are just a good team.

We can absolutely beat them, but their finals record against us is enviable.

Hawks v Cats finals just have a different flavour. There's more to it than just 'who's good'.

Can't wait for it.

I just don't believe in the whole superstitious historical voodoo magic. These are two evenly matched teams in their own right. Barely anything has separated them since about round 7 last last year.

Winning culture? Sure. But it's also their first prelim since 2015.

Hawthorn lost 4 finals in a row 2016-2018 and that similarly meant nothing for their finals the past 2 years. Shaun Mannnagh isn't going to be in cold sweats over the 2013 prelim.

Agree that it's an even bigger final for us supporters now, but what happened in 2014, 2013, 2008, 2001 or 1989 will have no relevance on the players or coaches. Much like 2011 or 2016 won't.

Totally agree! I don't believe in magical temporal football hoodoo either.

I just think the Hawks are a really well-run club and I think they channel the right emotions in the right direction.

I also think there's a Geelong-flavoured hatred in the water over there, and over the years it's irrigated a lot of fruit for them against us in finals.

Blicavs has a chance to go 2-2 against Gunston in finals. You better believe he's been waiting for his revenge.

We need to get "Norm" Smith to give the Cats players a pre-game rev up. He was our hero in the last Geelong/Hawthorn final, after all.

'knock-out final' is a bit selective. We beat them in finals games in 2011 and 2016. Hawthorn didn't even qualify for finals between 2019 and 2023.

There was nothing about 2008 that was the right way. The afl literally had to introduce two rules the next season because of hawthorns horrific poor sportsmenship on grand final day.

They changed the rule about deliberate behinds. That was a shocking look for the game. What was the other rule that changed?

Take a look at yourselves.

With some of the you, despondency has set in and increasing (since the Hawks beat GWS and then the Crows). You are hiding it by "rationalising" how the Hawks (heaven forbid) "deserve" to win. Keep you "coping" to yourselves. Rather than subject the rest here to it, maybe shut the laptop and go for a walk/run. It is getting to you.

The Hawks are not in our Players' or our MC's heads. They are in some of your heads. Some Hawks fans go about their usual Kayfabe and some of you are turning queasy. Most Hawk fans are shitting bricks.

I can't guarantee the result. No one can. It is at worse 50-50. But mostly, the odds are in our favour. For all your fanboying of Scott & the Cats, some of you turn on a dime at the first sign of trouble. Our Game Day threads are a Clinical Case Study of Premature Paniculation (made up word).

Nothing ventured. Nothing gained. Winning a football match involves a lot of things going right. The Cats are prepared as best as we can be (Rhys or no Rhys). Everyone (in both teams) have worked their backsides off for months on end. To quote SpaceX, "Excitement is guaranteed".

Now breathe easy for the next 2 games and help our boys bring it home!

No, forcing behinds in pressure situations or when a side could not see a clear path out of defence was common-place. The rule was changed because Patrick Bowden in a close game chose to walk the ball back over the behind line without kicking it in, which he did on several occasions to soak up time.
