He won’t go anywhere if we start winning! None of them will!

Before you all celebrate, Zane is a home grown #4 pick Vic kid who will enter 2026 coming out of contract when his peers in McKercher, Hardeman and Dawson all extended their initial deals.

He's our only 1st rounder this decade besides you know who who hasn't extended the initial contract.

He's probably blocked at this stage by no suitor turning our head with adequate compensation in any sounding out talks.

Nothing still screams buy-in. It's still feasible we hold to his deal and he becomes entrenched in the place next year though.

Massive off-season for Zane but also how the Club manages Zane.

If it goes pear shaped next year we will likely lose Zane for nada so hopefully we can get Zane humming.

Playing devils advocate… if I was BGZs manager, there is no way known I’d have recommended that he resign yet. Particularity when seeing all the money being thrown about the place and the leverage in placed for new Tassie entrant.

Plus, he may be thinking that he’s got the next offseason to get into tip top shape and earn himself more $$ by actually playing seniors footy.

The final consideration is that North are allegedly thought to be a basket case amongst player managers. Playing chicken with North will probably end up serving his client more short term moola at the cost of just waiting it out.

It’s arguably the biggest test of our clubs administration and how we develop players. This is the type of situation that the well run clubs manage carefully whilst not getting bent over by the player manager. I hope we succeed in this…

Bombers eyeing off highest draft picks

There was an interesting revelation on Trade Radio from Essendon list boss Matt Rosa who said the Bombers have been in contact with both West Coast and Richmond to let them know they are interested in discussing a move up the draft board.

Let’s remember, the Eagles have pick one and are expected to have pick two in the national draft once the [PLAYERCARD]Oscar Allen[/PLAYERCARD] free agency deal goes through, while Richmond presently hold picks two and three, which would become three and four if the Allen compensation works out as expected. The Bombers hold picks four and five, which would also be pushed back one spot.

The likely motivation for the Bombers would be to move into the position to draft Willem Duursma, who is rated as pick one or two by most draft pundits and recruiters.

That would see the Bombers with two of the three Duursma brothers (Xavier and Willem), and they have already made it clear they like North Melbourne’s Zane Duursma.

Zane is contracted at the Roos and won’t be traded during this trade period. But it’s interesting prospect from the club that played the four Daniher brothers – Terry, Anthony, Chris and Neale – together in a match against St Kilda in 1990.

I'm rather gruntled by the latest developments
Leaving yourself a bit of wiggle room there wee man given that gruntled seemingly has two opposing definitions*
One theory is that gruntled was originally 'grunting/grumbling/unhappy' and the 'dis' in disgruntled was an intensifier making it 'very unhappy'.
The 2nd theory is that it is a back-formation word meant to be the opposite of disgruntled in the style of happy and unhappy.

*Yes, I do have too much time on my hands. I really shouldn't have hip and shouldered that car.

Give us a first this year and next or **** off.
Nah keep. We need some highlights. You don't get a nick name of BGZ unless you're capable of the absolute extraordinary.

Obviously Brad will eat this up with his career on the line, but he can take Jy and others if required, instead.

Caleb Daniel ist runtergefallen. Der Berg ist ihm zu hoch
The perfect words for Caleb auf Deutsche ist Zwerg oder Knirps oder Kirzer.

I did VCE Deutsch (6 years lol) - there was a time when I thought I'd make my way to Schweiz and take up shop there.
