I'll admit it would be very disappointing if we missed out on Merritt. All I hope for is that we do have a plan B and C in place. We can't afford to go into next season without another key midfielder. That prelim shows exactly why we can't afford not to. I do have faith in the club, and I know they will make the right decision long term, just not sure what that is.

Best for both parties if Merrett needs a change.
Merrett gets to go. Bombers get a fair trade.
Hawks get a good player.

The alternative is Merrett probably not having a great year at the Dons as he doesn’t get the change he needs and his form suffers. Just let him go. I think the Hawks have indicated we aren’t just trying to trade him for a couple of peanuts.
