I don't actually think the offer we made is massive overs, especially considering our F1 is probably projecting to be 20+ after bids and FA com po are thrown in, while the Future 2nd is 36+. Pick 9 was always going to be part of it.

Do they want a another 2nd rounder thrown in that we get for CJ?

* PR to members: we extracted the maximum value that we could from a player ultimately not invested in the Red and Black. Hawthorn originally offered us Pick 9, 2026 F1, a second round pick and Henry Hustwaite. We felt a player of Zach’s calibre was worth three first round picks. Ultimately we accepted a deal for Pick 9, 2026 F1, 2027 F1 and Hustwaite in return for Merrett*. Getting three first round picks is a historic deal and additionally, we add a ready-made player and proven ball-winner in Hustwaite which sets us up for the future.

*(Not in the PR release, they send back their 2027 F2.)

Fiorini worked his way back into the GCS midfield unit (wing), played 18 games and averaged 20.9 touches.

He's also played 123 games and played an entire season averaging 25.4 touches, albeit several years ago now.

Reality is HH has very little value, hence the limited interest from other teams, despite him being clear in wanting to leave for opportunities.
