isnt an RFA/FA
Day is an A Grade mid, Ridley isn’t even that as an intercepting defender. That’s a laughable take.Day is just Jordan Ridley in a Hawthorn jumper
Weddle is getting to over rated stages, good player with potential but geez the output doesnt match the rating
Mitch Lewis is just an inferior Peter Wright. Good player when fit but not really a needle mover, is he
It’s not about isolation, it’s about relative impact to their sides. Hawthorn has strong depth but losing Day from their midfield is a massive loss.Injuries are relative though, hawks may have had a bad run with injuries in isolation but relative to their rivals it was pretty decent.
Day and Lewis are walking injuries, including them is wishful thinking.

And Worpel. Don’t forget WorpelIt’s not about isolation, it’s about relative impact to their sides. Hawthorn has strong depth but losing Day from their midfield is a massive loss.
Hawthorn had the =second most players who played a full seasons worth of games (22) or more games. No doubt every club has injuries. But you’re so ignorant of Hawthorn. I just don’t mention what you are because I agree with you, a lot of clubs had horror runs, poor times with injuries or annoying even.
Hawthorn did too, and that’s my point.
I’m not going to repeat what you say, it’s obvious, a mute point.
You can specifically say Day and Lewis in particular are like new recruits and then considering Dear is about to have his first full pre season, there’s no reason for Hawthorn or their fans to worry.
Strong finals run?Day is an A Grade mid, Ridley isn’t even that as an intercepting defender. That’s a laughable take.
Weddle was significant at the end of 2025 with a strong finals run, new role and one he probably plays all of 2026 (wing). He’s highly rated for a reason.
Said no one ever. Wright isn’t better than Lewis.
Money tight at the hawks. Especially when Essendon is about to throw a 1.6 million dollar offer to weddle. He won’t come but it’ll cost hawks way too much to keep him.Should have stayed focus on Petracca, Melbourne would have traded him for your 1st rounder and F1 but you probably would have pay his entire salary like GCS.
No one said anything about Hawthorn discussing or not discussing about their own players desires to leave and especially go to Essendon. Worpel/Serong and Jiath have left but their relation to Essendon was likely null.Essendon view was not to trade ZM at all
Hawks had to put the deal together, not us.
You didnt even bother discussing with players to than propose it to Essendon.
Lazy stuff.
Ridley been in an all Australian squad has day?Day is an A Grade mid, Ridley isn’t even that as an intercepting defender. That’s a laughable take.

No one bar Essendon fans would think Ridley is even as good as Day let alone better.Ridley been in an all Australian squad has day?

One can only be glad. And Worpel. Don’t forget Worpel
They did, but Hawthorn also have significant draft capital, players to return from injury and having full preseasons and a lot of depth of talent that will be pushing to get a position in a side that made a prelim.Hawthorn had the =second most players who played a full seasons worth of games (22) or more games.
They are going to have in game board meetings to approve rotationsDoes the Essendon board need to approve of Scott planning a zone defence next season?
Weddle was tagged in the Geelong game but was strong against both GWS and Adelaide away.Strong finals run?
Weddle was Geelongs best player in the PF.
Are we just back to making shit upMoney tight at the hawks. Especially when Essendon is about to throw a 1.6 million dollar offer to weddle. He won’t come but it’ll cost hawks way too much to keep him.
Curnow's last two seasons have been buoyed by injuries? lack of interest? Voss' shit style of coaching? what is it. Last I checked, Merrett is still at the top of his game. Curnow you are buying what he was doing and not what he is doing.Multiple Coleman medallist, and younger.
It’s not potential. That’s an AFL award for the best forward in the AFL. Multiple times.
Merrett is a bloody good player. 6 BnFs and all that. But they are still only Essendon BnFs
Anyway not to denigrate Merrett. But complete spin you’re playing off Curnow like he’s an untried kid with potential…… he’s proven. One of the top few most damaging forwards in the entire league. And a position a lot rarer and harder to fill than the midfield.
Facts.
Wright had a better season than Lewis. Has also kicked 50 plus goal season before. No one bar Essendon fans would think Ridley is even as good as Day let alone better.

The only thing that’s come out was that Essendon apparently through the media said they wanted a best 22 player, but MM came out and said they didn’t ask about any, Hustwaites name was the only one mutually talked about.
They then came out and asked for four firsts and a second last minute, which is beyond laughable.

the notion was Hawthorn were hard done by through injuriy which ive debunked. They did, but Hawthorn also have significant draft capital, players to return from injury and having full preseasons and a lot of depth of talent that will be pushing to get a position in a side that made a prelim.
I was told Petracca money too much, hence why hawks didn’t want him when I suggested he was the better fit.Are we just back to making shit up
I think that comment was referencing their injury histories. eg quality players who spend too much time injured. Yoda_No one bar Essendon fans would think Ridley is even as good as Day let alone better.

I hope the media go after Tom Petroro, he has acted like nothing but a petulant child with his arm flailing, story leaking rubbish over the last few weeksDon't underestimate the impact this will have on future player recruitment to the hawks who do not honor their commitments.
