Or find a role at the club for a kid who missed the draft to be the marketing / social media manager....or something that fits their skill set. Plus also VFL contract.Basically what I am asking is if we could hire somebody like Burgess as a website designer and then have him help out at training.
That’s what some of the AFLW players do, but they wouldn’t be allowed to join training unless the afl gives permissionBasically what I am asking is if we could hire somebody like Burgess as a website designer and then have him help out at training.
Michael Tuck was about 75 when he stopped. How old is too old to still go to the footy jumper?

To me, it's more about girth than age. I don't want to see the lint in your belly button as you wear a jumper to the footy from when you were 17 and 85kg, but now you're 40 and 120kg.How old is too old to still go to the footy jumper?

Agree which is why you buy a 5xlTo me, it's more about girth than age. I don't want to see the lint in your belly button as you wear a jumper to the footy from when you were 17 and 85kg, but now you're 40 and 120kg.![]()

Havnt heard anything, not a bad callHas Jeremy McGovern said what he'll be doing next year? Sees the game brilliantly, would be a great get as an assistant?
You must be confused. Mcgovern never played for Essendon.Has Jeremy McGovern said what he'll be doing next year? Sees the game brilliantly, would be a great get as an assistant?
That would be difficult...What does he need to show/do to keep his job for 2027?
Can he survive a 4-6 win - 70-80% season?

Yeah, a % in the 90s is quite rare for EFC lately...
Agree it is more for warmth.Agree which is why you buy a 5xl
I have a couple of jumpers but they are larger size that I wear over a T shirt or light jumper every now and then.
Hope so because with one of the youngest and least experienced lists in the league that's the absolute best case scenario. What does he need to show/do to keep his job for 2027?

we've seen this movie before though, really hope the current guys in charge can continue to ignore the outside noise!Hope so because with one of the youngest and least experienced lists in the league that's the absolute best case scenario.
If the club thinks sacking the coach on the basis of win/loss results after embarking on a rebuild is a good idea then we really do have no hope.

I hear that, but if he's playing Jones off the wing and backs in Perkins and Gresham while they plodder around I'll be a tad annoyed.Hope so because with one of the youngest and least experienced lists in the league that's the absolute best case scenario.

Yes, from my couch I think giving the youth plenty of AFL exposure is an important benchmark.I hear that, but if he's playing Jones off the wing and backs in Perkins and Gresham while they plodder around I'll be a tad annoyed.
For me personally a big bugbear in the past is the coaching team starts the year with a set plan/team structure but then when player X is injured or player Y is out of form instead of replacing them with a like for like replacement (who may be a first or second year player) they rejig the team structure to fit in the most senior players playing in the twos and we end up trying to fit square pegs into round holes instead of having consistency in team structure/style.Yes, from my couch I think giving the youth plenty of AFL exposure is an important benchmark.
How much exposure? I'm not really sure. The first year players in particular have a lot of development to do to get their bodies adjusted to the rigours of professional footy and it's probably not the end of the world if they spend a fair bit of time in the VFL despite good performances
I think there's also a lot of 'hidden' stuff that goes into it like fitness, training loads, attitude, injury niggles etc tooFor me personally a big bugbear in the past is the coaching team starts the year with a set plan/team structure but then when player X is injured or player Y is out of form instead of replacing them with a like for like replacement (who may be a first or second year player) they rejig the team structure to fit in the most senior players playing in the twos and we end up trying to fit square pegs into round holes instead of having consistency in team structure/style.
To be fair I think this improved a bit last year though and is probably as much to do with the list build under dodoro vs rosa.
Also they are possibly the best prepared 18 year olds we have had in a while. The first year players in particular have a lot of development to do to get their bodies adjusted to the rigours of professional footy and it's probably not the end of the world if they spend a fair bit of time in the VFL despite good performances
