Dyson Sharp is probably the safest player ive seen, hes a beauty, plays both ways, hard, good reactions and disposal under pressure, decent forward craft. He doesnt do anything amazing but there isnt anything he does bad, solid B+ across the board. Future captain written all over him.
I agree... with everything you've said. AI1

I like Sharp and xTaylor for our requirements.

... with a nod to jLindsay, but I'm not too sure we need two Lindsay's down back.

If I was Geelong id be doing everything I could to move up for him, hes exactly what they need.
... agree again, he Sharp, is the Geelong prototype, isn't he...?

Whats this love for inside contested beasts? Sharp and Grieves? Is that you Goodwin?

Lindsay and Doverston for me (if Grlj doesn’t slide).
We need to continue drafting inside mids, until ours are the best going around. Those that don't quite make it will fill other positions.

The trick is to NOT draft one-dimensional types.

Whoever said Schubert is another Jefferson is spot on. Unco as, never takes a contested mark, what is the point of your height? Weak one on one. The only marks he seems to take are when hes wide open. Chest marks too much, clearly shows a lack of confidence in his hands. Seems to hate contact which is what you definitely dont want in KPF. Big NO again for me sKing.
I never watched Jefferson in the draft but my first impression of him in AFL was that he looked like someone who would rock up to a party and get paralytic off two cans of apple cider.

Im not sure what my point is. Maybe it's as simple as marking skills contested footy good hands etc all very nice but I just want a forward who looks like they can handle their piss lol.

I'm not sure he's really required since we have Viney and Steele. But I do like him as a player, someone is going to get a player who can make an impact straight away, sort of reminds me of Callan Ward.

He’d be perfect for my sister

I think its a must we draft an inside-mids with a touch of class. Sharp looks good, and does Farrow.

I'm uncertain Re Robey... his highlights all look at a slow pace.

Viney and Steele are only with us now as teachers, and mentoring... and to keep us competitive as the young players come on.

Imv we need a top-line player for our back-half. Taylor looks likely.

I want us to replace Lever, Viney and Salem...so need to recruit for these positions now.

Might be good in the long run, Viney Steele won't be there for too much longer. I haven't seen many highlights but it might be good to have one of his type to add to future midfield mixes.

I think pure inside mids are the easiest position to fill on a list, and I think the days of using high draft picks to fill those spots are long since past (unless those players have another string to their bow - e.g. being able to play forward like Petracca or Humphrey). Just this week we've had Hobbs and Phillips delisted - two young inside mids taken with high draft picks - which shows there will always be competent, one-dimensional inside mids available cheaply if your list really needs them.

I do agree, thats why I prefer Greeves if we are going to take one cause hes shown some really good signs as a forward, one dimensional inside mids arent as valuable as they once were.

Been looking a bit more at the draft. Apparently Sharp's weaknesses is his speed and kicking. I thought his kicking looked fine from the highlights. I also think a combination of Langford and Sharp could be a good thing. We still have another pick and I'm sure we can get a jet in next year's draft.

I can see us taking those too but I doubt we use 8 on Dovaston - I can see us sliding back a few spots and grabbing him there + some change.
Too risky IMO. We have a history of targeting who we want and grabbing them early if we have to. If we want Dovaston, grab him with 8. Wouldn't be trusting mock drafts on where he ends up going.

The sense I get is that the draft order is a bit up in the air. If you're moving back to target someone you'd want to be sure they'll be there.

Yeah 0 chance we slide back, we never rate later picks and we have a history of trading up. Be absolutely no sense in us sliding back to get a pick in the 20s or 30s when we don't rate them. Better chance we package up 7-8 and try move up
