Barker is a bit too risky for mine. There's guys like Ashcroft who have come back strong, but I can't help think of Brayden George who was ranked similarly to Barker (top 10 chance, but did an ACL and went in the 20's), and he did his ACL again and hasn't played an AFL game 3 years after being drafted.

Darcy Jones and Powell-Pepper did theirs again this past year. It's fairly common as ACL injuries are often related to genetics. According to google/AI, studies have shown genetics account for 69% of the risk for an ACL tear.

Agree fully. Why take the car where the clutch is ****ed?

Max Holmes has turned out to be a star , Any interest in picking up his younger Brother Hunter Holmes ? would make a great winger if he comes on like Max has.

And we know if he becomes the best player in the competition he can move back to Geelong for pick #18 and #36

Im pretty sure Chris Scerri just recently turned 19. He went straight from the Strathmore U18s to the Northern Bullants senior team in 2024 is what Ive read. The VFL App is wring a fair bit on player details. He's quick as he's been labelled arguably the quickest player at VFL level in one of his game write ups according to a post on the Rookie Me Central Facebook page.

David Walls on Toby Whan and Ryda Luke: https://archive.md/Sv5Rw

Describes Ryda Luke as raw, which is pretty expected. Probably the most interesting part is his description of Whan as there's been opinion ranging from his outside game being his strength to it being his weakness.

"He’s got some nice attributes — he’s a lovely left-foot kick, he’s a strong runner, his work-rate is really good, his professionalism is really strong and we’ve seen him for a number of years, so I’ve got a really good read on Toby," he said.

"Toby is that hard-running wingman that is pretty consistent. He probably didn’t have the under-18 championships he was hoping for but he finished the season really strong."

Should be best available small/medium player IMO.

At least a talented inside mid or HBF can actually realistically find a spot in our best 30-odd within the next couple of seasons even if it's not ideally what we end up with.

I find it hard to believe second or third best available isn’t not a tall if best available is.
I get what you're saying but imagine if we followed this logic and passed on Treacy.

Sometimes best available turns out to be best full stop.

Probably a poor example as he was a rookie, but I guess my point is just trust Wallsy.

Pretty sure Treacy was a needs based pick as a rookie.

Don't think we can compete against teams with massive leg ups if we waste first rounders.

33. Zac McCarthy
AFL Comparison - Max Ramsden :joycat:
Zac might want to save us all some time and try something else.

The kid tipped to go at 34 is likened to Murphey Reid... Hence, why i can never understand why people get upset about being pushed back a couple of spots. Who cares.
