I assume you're being facetious..?

We've got at least one American that posts on here regularly and loves Freo as much as the rest of us.

I get disliking someone because they're a flog or a criminal but basing it on their nationality is just shit. People should do better.
We need less americanisation of the game. Not more

No Americanisation at all would mean no draft and no salary cap, just the big Vic clubs getting all the best players.

Actually the Americans do the draft a lot better because theres no F/S no Academies and no bidding on points.

So in effect in this case Australianising the draft just ****ed up the game even worse.

Wont be long till we have mandatory mid quarter time outs for Sportsbet ads. Australianisation FTW.

I think Snoop Dog deeply offended all the snow flake boomers

Please, please, please, for the love of all that is purple and holy…

NO ****ING ‘U.S.A’ CHANT.

I swear I will chunder all over the poor sods sitting in the row in front of me. 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
If he kicks 3 goals in a quarter of a final (which he's done TWICE) you'll be leading the chant 😃

Don't underestimate this guy, just played 2 pretty good finals, handy back-up

Fremantle list boss David Walls has revealed they are yet to convince Collingwood premiership ruckman Mason Cox to join them as a rookie as a back-up ruckman.

Cox has widely been reported to join the Dockers on a two-year deal when the pre-season supplemental selection period opens next week.

However, Walls told The West Australian they would sit down with the 34-year-old tomorrow to try to convince him to make the move west.

Cox was delisted by the Magpies at the end of this season after playing 139 games in 10 years including 10 this season.

Fremantle are in need of a ready-made back-up ruckman for star duo Luke Jackson and Sean Darcy after they traded Liam Reidy to Carlton, with rookie Aiden Riddle the only other on their list.

“We’re still working through it ... we’d like to bring Mason in but there’s still a bit of water to go under the bridge before he’s fully committed,” he said.

“It’s a big move for him. He’s been over in the States and only just got back. We’re going to catch up with him tomorrow and have a chat and work through a few things but I think we’re getting pretty close.

“We think he’s ready to play. We’ve got Aiden Riddle on our list who we think is developing really well and is going to be a good player but he’s still (in his) first year. Then we’ve got (Luke) Jackson and Sean Darcy as well who are playing now.

“It’s an extra player who we think can play straight away for us and we think can play a couple of different positions. Can play forward and can obviously play in the ruck as well. So it’s having someone for the now.”

Is this code for 'we've made him a fair offer but if he doesnt want it we all move on'?

What??

How ****en dare he knock us back!!… he should be internally grateful we’re giving him a contract at all!
1 yr more then enough!

Doesn’t he realise he’s got nothing else going for him!!
I sure am grateful for my internals!

Why not? It would be fun!

The while thing started when Cox tore my club a new one in the 2018 finals series. I just had to shake my head and laugh.
Yuck, nothing fun about that mindless incessant chant.

They don’t even have any intelligence. Look at the recent Ryder cup - their useless chants of USA USA and Scottie Scheffler vs the classic and witty chants of the Europeans. The Americans made absolute fools of themselves.

Theyre actually the most embarrassing sports fans, I can’t understand why anyone would want to follow in their footsteps. Much rather witty and clever songs like the Barmy Army.

The Americanisation of the AFL is what will ultimately destroy it. Wildcard round just another example of a useless thing from the states we simply do not need.

Yes, it took an army of Rhodes scholars to come up with "Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi" - fills me with pride whenever I hear that chant.

Your bashing of all things American says more about you than it does about them.

Final chance. Don't make me resort to thread bans.

I don't give a rat's clacker about people's thoughts on America so keep it to yourself, or take it to the SRP board. This thread's about a player not what country they're from.

And if you're upset about a tacky chant, just wait until we roll out Sweid Caroiline next season.

I like this chant...

I actually want him, He's form in 2025 was pretty decent for a player who'll be our third choice ruck and forward depth in 2026 if he comes over.. Based on his 2025 form he'd be better than any third string ruck /forward on an afl list and that's the role he'd play for us in 2026.
If we get injuries to either Darcy or Dogga he's great cover and we won't have to risk Treacy or Voss rucking plus he's also cover forward if two of Amiss, Voss or Treacy go down. Perhaps he could play mostly as a forward if only one of the three go down. I also think he'd be a handy option to bring into the team and rest Darcy when we have a 5 day break at some point in the year even if we don't get injuries.

Hey I don’t love that chant either.

I’ve grown up enjoying European wit, I support the Aussies but admire the Barmy Army and the English football fans, they’re clever and come up with entertaining chants.

I’d enjoy Sweid Caroline.

The English shout "oggy oggy oggy, oi oi oi". It's probably where Australian variation came from.

I first heard it watching an Ashes game on TV on the 1981 tour. There's a test ground in England that used to have a gasworks construction in the background. I think the test venue was the Oval in London.

At the time I thought it was really odd because I thought they were shouting for Rodney Hogg ("hoggy hoggy hoggy") who was on that tour but wasn't playing in the game I watching. Supposedly in that area it is some docklands worker chant, but there's some other explanations for it when you look it up.

Weird comment?

MLB effectively has no salary cap but every other league does as well as a pretty tight draft and trading system.
We are so far from the US when it comes to list management that its comical to suggest otherwise.

Isn’t this still to be confirmed? Not a done deal yet? Heard they are having a discussion today and then he will decide to come or not based on whether he actually gets games or not is the main thing if it’s worth coming over.
