For the record , he's been found guilty and I'm satisfied with that but I'm reading a lot about the Uber receipt aspect leading to damning evidence of guilt but there is scenario where there could be a plausible reason for tampering with it. She accuses him of rape, he panics and tries to cover his ass out of sheer fear of where it could go. I dont buy into this being definitive proof of wrongdoing. People panic and do stupid things under pressure. Anyhow, just another way of looking at it, as I said, I'm happy he has been found guilty but there is more to it than just the uber receipt.

To offer her money to not testify is a serious offence in Victoria. So not sure where it’s been reported that Silvagni offered her money not to testify, because then SoS would b opening himself up to criminal prosecution

Usually the victim has made a complaint to police and the defense can offer compensation to the victim to resolve the matter and withdraw their complaint though. That isn't the same as offering them money to not testify, which probably is illegal, and also hinges on the police/state also deciding not to proceed with the case once the complaint has been withdrawn.
