For his size he is deceptively strong. He's built like those old Italian Concreters who have been pouring concrete for 50 years.

I do like him having the ball further up the ground though to make the most of his kicking.

If he gets Italian concreter level anger then he will become the best defender in the game

Disappointed in the lack of stamping. ;)
Wasn't establish3d by the world's best expert, that if Wil Day stamps his feet in Melbourne, it causes a broken femur in Argentina?

Someone’s back at the oval.
Saw a clip of him running on Hawks Insiders socials just now. To my untrained eye it looks like his running gait has changed significantly. Enough for me to notice a difference at least.

Gone from quite long strides where his feet would almost sweep the ground to shorter ones with more elevation with his feet. The front foot hitting the ground closer to his centre of mass than further in front.

I’m no expert so don’t know the terms, but I’d say his running gait now looks more typical or standard.

A warm one today, so an early start, and everyone accounted for. Daysy back out there and doing lots of running and then the bike, as well as some kicking for goal.
At one point he saw three young boys watching on in the pocket so he made his way over to them, said hi and gave them all a high five as he continued on.
Made these boys day.

Big running session to end the day out on the track also after some match sim.

I’ll post more soon.

Does anyone know when the players will return from the Xmas break? I assume they will finish up for the year later this week

Hoping to get down to check out new facilities and see the boys run around.

Thanks.

I heard from Ratts that they have a training camp planned soon. Not sure of the dates so may not be in Melbourne for a bit after this week.

Just love that we've gotten through pre-Christmas with no new injuries. Every player is on track for the first game.

Seriously, you had to go and say that :straining:

No more training this year, so pretty safe I reckon, but I'll qualify it as being 'at this moment in time'. ;)
The club has a habit of sitting on injury news and releasing the info when they feel it's right so there may well be issues that we are not yet aware of. Fingers and toes crossed this is not the case.

At this stage, we have no players who are injured and only three players who are being managed from contact. The club has done a tremendous job getting the list healthy

I'm guessing Sic and Calsh are holding off until after the break given the injury issues they had this year? Hopefully Day will be back in full training by then as well.

Who are the 3? Just guessing from reports Sicily, Dear, Day? have all seemed on modified programs.

Is Finn back doing everything? I thought no contact for him was the plan till after break.

Is there anything going on with Dear and Sicily or just managing loads because last year both seemed had injury struggles.

Wo wo wo... apparently this kind of talk is not allowed

You're not supposed to acknowledge good player management, only criticise when injuries occur

I was under the impression that our three train-ons would be decided on by Christmas so if this was the last training run i'd expect some news soon.
