Good to know the 3rd umpire posts here.

As I said at the time, it seemed very unprofessional the way the ump went through the process. Just almost immediately declared 'clear gap' like he was a nuffie on Bigfooty, when that was clearly not true.

He couldn't have overturned this particular decision due to operator error, so that's the major issue here. It's just that the 3rd umpires routinely seem out of their depth. It was always more likely than not that Carey hit it.

Snicko has been problematic recently and at the very least this incident should make 3rd umpires more diligent. Should. But won't.
