stigmatized..I can read and spell
maybe try facts instead of pathetic shaming tactics
Ah yes, I'm the one unnecessarily shaming people when I was responding to a post of yours mischaracterising others as believing "fairytales" and being in "embarrassing denial". You give it, you'll get it.

PS. It's stigmatiSed lol. Probably wouldn't be bringing up spelling as a retort.

Josh has dismissed the intelligence agencies review as "bullshit"
Of course he did. He'll do and say and do anything to keep the anger bubbling over and to target Albanese as being responsible for the Bondi massacre even when the facts are saying the bullshit is all his. He's after every platform he can get his hands on to make the same claims to attack the Government for being 'enemies of peace'.

Make no mistake - this is the chance that Josh has been looking for after signalling his intention to re-run for the seat of Koorong as he sees a clear path to leading a new right wing Coalition after the next election.

Heck he doesn't even have to invent new signage - just replace 'keep' with the word 're-elect'. And the pictures of him in front of the Bondi crowds in mourning this week are going to work a treat in his 2028 campaign brochures.

Currently, i'm not watching anything from australian media but I was setting up an app and I did see the flash of a commercial that featured a load of celebrities that individually spoke an antisemitic message that I've since forgotten.

I would presume this is part of an education program?? It was under the banner of the gov't, I think. It reminded me of that old "It's Time" commercial from the Whitlam years. Obviously, none of the catchy singing, which is ironically something that would appeal to the Gen Zers. I saw Eddie Maguire in there but I cant remember anyone else. They all seemed to be a bit old, and the pitch seemed to be at old blokes like me. Now I know that my demographic constitutes a large part of the presumed antisemitists, but are we the only ones? There seems to be a wide range of types in pro-palestinian marches.

I sincerely admire you and others attempting to reason with this person, but for your own sanity please reconsider.

I don’t think they are a troll, just unfortunately very, very simple (the most polite way one can put it). You won’t break through.

Make no mistake - this is the chance that Josh has been looking for after signalling his intention to re-run for the seat of Koorong as he sees a clear path to leading the Liberals after the next election. Liberal Party leadership collapsing.

I know that you're always right, so I'm happy to say that I agree with you. We a bit of luck we might see the aussie embassy back in jerusalem before the end of the decade.

This poster is upset with my referencing the Jewish Council of Australia - seemly because they have a political perspective on Jewish matters that differs with theirs:

They didn't have the courage to post their comment in this thread so resorted to a PM. I suspect they are a shadow account of a certain poster in this thread and have blocked them and will make my response public to all.

The Jewish Council of Australia is a well respected independent progressive coalition of Jewish academics, lawyers and writers.

What makes them different from the politically active zionist groups that currently dominates conservative political commentary around what it means to be Jewish is that they provide a distinct and rational facts-based voice of Australian Jews that supports Palestinian rights and justice while opposing antisemitism and racism.

The JCA aim to counter the narrative that all Australian Jews support Israel's policies by offering expert commentary on human rights, challenging politicised definitions of antisemitism, and advocating for freedom, equality, and Palestinian liberation.

Of course they are not the ultimate truth of all things Jewish and of course their perspectives are open to challenge. But imho they are a voice that should be listened to by anyone in power who wants to get a full understanding of the broad perspective of the perspectives of Australian jews rather than solely listening to the shrill voice of a the politically charged Australian Jewish Association who have a close working relationship with the Murdoch tabloid press and Sky News.

For the record I am not a Jew and have never been a member of any political party. But I am keenly interested in this matter because I can see it is part of the damaging polarising process of current political discourse that has the will dominate national policy debate for years to come. And I get pretty annoyed when any organisation or individual tries to shut down debate because they think there is only one perspective or opinion that matters.

These types of ads are cringey, imo. Being lectured by “celebrities”, who get to believe they are smarter/better people than the rest of us, isn’t quite as appealing as supposed.

Except when the celebrities are friends of Sky News, of course.

Is this for real?

Are you saying people should be arrested and charged for things they haven't done yet and may never do? That they should be considered guilty of thoughtcrime without proof they've done anything?

How's this gonna work without completely destroying liberal democratic values and if you have to that haven't the terrorists won?
Arrested? Never suggested or even alluded that.

I'm suggesting there must be some way that someone who is a known (since 2019) sympathizer and has / had ties with isis (reportedly) shouldn't be allowed to have firearms.

If you think this is unreasonable then................

Yeh, and as I said, the celebrities seem to be pitched to the boomers who arent that "receptive". But it puts money in the pocket of the advertising agencies and their kids through private schools.

JCA represent some jewish academics and periphery. Whether they are right or wrong is a matter of opinion (yours being a very important measure*) but they are a pimple on the bum of jewish representative organisations.

*And they are well liked by a couple of people in this forum.

Done. Your point?
You stated in the post you replied to.

'This does not mean the whole Muslim community needs to be stigmatised and berated for it.'

So my point, once again is that the post you replied to did not infer this^. Nor does society berate and stigmatise the whole muslim community.
