It's naive to suggest one of the most respected coaches in the league got there by hanging on to favourites, but I'll reserve my judgement on our latest trades
If Cox can turn us back into perpetual finalists, winning enough finals to carry us into five Grannies and win a premiership this year he might be considered a worthy successor to Horse, but after one year Cox is not within cooee of a final.
Time will deliver a verdict on our trades. It's a long season. Of course we're optimistic but we don't yet know how effective they'll be. If CC were to do his knee we'll be relying very much on those forwards Horse had groomed under Buddy. If Florent runs at full pace and delivers into F50 as cleanly as he can or if Hayward uses his skilled marking, uncanny snaps for goals and enormous forward pressure to keep Carlton's ball inside 50 we may feel a little foolish.
Very few coaches have gotten near Horse's consistently high performance. He made it damn good to be a Swans fan, so a little respect is due. Perhaps he just saw the game or the contribution of some players differently to you.

This is me and my mates at the GWS game at the SCG. Back when we were general admission members.
I don't honestly know. I've only sat there during finals when I can't get my normal seat and they're at night.
Edit: thinking a bit more - in winter the worst time is around 4-4.30. The sun sets near the clock over the members so most of the ground would be fine, if in shade. So probably only a twilight game is an issue (if it is at all). Watching from a little height on the wing is great.
Edit again: my bad, I was thinking 314 was in the O'Reilly but it's not, it's in the Trumper and you're higher above the northern pocket at the Randwick end, opposite me in 28. A bit further up and back but a great view of the game unfolding.

If the SCG can have totals on the first 2 days of the test with over 49 and 46,000 , why when we have a sell out and only get say 40,000 and have 76,000 members

You must be channelling the Phillipou figjam aura. I'm sure he follows his brothers lead and thinks he's a top 5 player, but I be shocked if he even played a game in 2026
I think you are right, and i think he is the draftee i am most excited about. Will take time, if at all.
Had a dream watching opening round. We played like shit couldn't string anything together and Charlie didn't get a sniff and we got slapped.
