Of course they are but Russia and the USA are adversaries, so there'll always be a power struggle between the 2.
Trump and Russia are not adversaries. There is every chance Trump has sucked off Putin in the past the same way he sucked off Clinton.
China has no historical claims over the South China seas as it's international waters. European explorers gave the sea its name, not China.
  1. Who gives a shit who named it. The Vietnamese call it the South Vietnamese Sea for whatever that is worth.
  2. Lots of countries have claims to this particular sea and it is not international waters. Historically free passage has been provided - but that is not the same as international waters. Any conflicts are caused by overlapping boundaries and yes China has tried to expand its territory with silly islands that have complicated these conflicts. Anyways, according to the precedent set by Trump the South China Sea is China's because they are the most powerful in the region. Sad.

China's claim over the South China sea is rejected by international rulings and all other nations in the regions. I'd say that's a pretty damn important sticking point instead of it's 'named' after China, thus it's theirs.

China are indeed pushing their 'claims' over the sea though because they are indeed the most powerful in the region.

Good to see you're starting to understand things :thumbsu:

And what does that have to do with your original point?

Syria's been a mess for a long time. hundreds of thousands slaughtered and the biggest refugee crisis in modern times, all by a dictator backed by Russia.

Yes, since the US sposored a revolution there 15 years ago and weakened the place so much that ISIS, itself the fault of the US, had a damn good shot at taking over.

China has historical claims on the South China Sea that predate the alleged birth of Jesus. The Republic of China claimed the entire thing after WW2 but lacks the ability to enforce these claims. The People's Republic of China claims less of the South China Sea than the Republic of China but does have the ability to enforce its claims and bases its claims on the original claims made by the Republic of China ... but isn't quite as greedy.

Hopefully the Democrats fix up Trump.

Funny they weren’t against placing a 25 million dollar bounty on someone’s head but fuming at literally capturing him 🤣
Just checking = as bzparkes keeps asking for balance - are you ok with a country kidnapping Netanyahu - as he also has indictments against him from the ICC

I think Trump proved that if you name something after your country then you own it forever when he named the Gulf of America.

You know China's been clashing with Philippines fishermen and coast guard close to Manilla for years, right?

Their claims don't extend to territorial waters of the Philippines and other SE countries but they keep building military bases on manmade islands there anyway.

UNCLOS has deemed their expansion illegal but China just says 'Nah, it isn't' and just does what they want.

The same China, by the way, is complaining that the USA has broken international from their actions in Venezuela.

All it proves is that 'international law' doesn't mean shit, you just need to have a bigger gun.

Go ahead. I'd love to see Netanyahu gone and politicians stop sucking at the teat of Israel for funding.

Yes and the reason it doesn't mean shit goes all the way back to 2003 when the US invaded Iraq and followed up in other countries while trying to implement GHW Bush's New World Order.

International law only applies as a police mechanism for smaller countries that the powerful countries cant control the way they like. If there was an appetite for it by Europe, 100% the USA would have or probably already has tried to find a way to drag Zelensky in front of the ICC.

What do you keep making the same 12 year old level arguments in here? I know Trump has the cognitive level of 10 year old you but you could do a lot better.

Afghanistan was going well until they gave it up again. Womens rights and living standards dramatically improved.

Japan, west germany also great examples. Both became two of the richest countries on earth. Technically france and Italy were other regime changes due to the US as well.

Its hard to see how venezuela could get worse then it already is.
Wow I remember hearing similar things said about Iraq.

A post-WW2 type reconstruction might work if there was some kind of modern Marshall Plan but that hasn't been the case in any post-WW2 instances (of which there are many, many examples). Thinking that the modern US is going to do anything other than try to ensure access to the market and resources for their cronies is fanciful.

Trump when told by a reporter on Air Force One that Delcy Rodriguez called the abduction of Maduro a kidnapping…. “It’s alright. It’s not a bad term”!!! I mean WTAF?

Under Trump possibly. Not under Biden.

He really can't do better. His posting proves that conclusively.
