I think it makes more sense for him to come to Hawthorn. I'm not sure where phantom drafts rate him at this stage. Obviously a lot will change based on how he and others perform during this season. As well as both clubs. Some rumours up here in Brisbane that Cooper is looking more likely to be at the Hawks. Not close to family or club ITK's, some outside the group type ITK's. Take that anyway you would like, just passing it on.

I am not a lawyer but this feels like a legally binding obligation to play for Hawthorn, and I won’t be taking further questions
I teach some of the Lions academy players and they've said this all along. Some rumours up here in Brisbane that Cooper is looking more likely to be at the Hawks. Not close to family or club ITK's, some outside the group type ITK's. Take that anyway you would like, just passing it on.
I think I heard him say "F**kin' Gary, gotta protect f**kin' Gary."Did anyone see if Cooper is anything like his dad …… you know lay hard crunching bump, walked off at the end of training with a bandage around his head or got someone on their tippy toes by squeezing their larynx with a smile on his face!
The good thing about Duke is he is so amazing resilient he hardly ever seems to have to miss a training session due to injury.Duke just looks so strong through the core- looks like he's having a big preseason
Gaz. Pretty sure it was Gaz.I think I heard him say "F**kin' Gary, gotta protect f**kin' Gary."
It's hard to see all 40+ players spread out in the oval and see what each and everyone is doing, but below is my observations for today. I can be corrected with some of my obs below if wrong.
The boys started going to the oval a few minutes after 11am.
It was a hot sunny day, they started training late perhaps to get used to the warm games at Sydney (in round 0) and some not so cold days in March or April.
Nairn and Bodie Ryan were wearing white shirts, telling me that maybe they're not 100% fit.
Near the beginning, the team were separated into 4 groups, it's hard to see what all groups are doing but the one near me are doing some tackling drills.
Before the tackling drill starts, I can hear one of the trainers was telling Nuke that he will be pitted against Greeves 1:1 (You can check my other posts on the Nuke vs Ollie 1v1.).
You can feel that the players were picking up the intensity during the tackling drills.
Nairn was running almost the whole session.
Sic can be seen sometimes with the trainers doing some light tackling drills and maybe they are testing his shoulders with some light contacts.
Dear is on and off from the main group, he has done most of the drills but sometimes can be seen jogging around the oval.
Harry headed indoors after an hour (after coming from the shed).
Nothing obvious that is wrong with his walking, so hopefully he's all good.
In one of the sessions called "Tough" Perez was praised by Hickmont for a good tackle on Dear. Perez is impressive week in and week out that he might get a spot in team.
Dear later redeemed himself when he did some smart plays/hustles in which his actions did not escape Hicks attention.
It can be noticed that Reeves is running well for a tall guy ... looks in a good condition and surely will challenge for a spot in the 23.
Dalton continues to impress with his positioning & disposals.
Ward is consistent and is stepping up.
Croc could be one of our most improved player this year if he keeps his form.
Frenchie moving well in some of the drills.
Scrimma's superb.
Wiz is a surprise packet in the middle and will provide some needed spark in the actual games.
I'm not sure if Wiz is 100% ok, as he slightly hurt his foot earlier ... but he has finished the training before going indoors, so I guess nothing major.
A 12 minute match sim was held very late, it's already past 1pm and the sun is high up.
You can definitely tell that the outside training took longer than usual today... and I'm hungry by that time.
TB, Battle, Weddle, Buts, Bmac, Nuke, Reeves, Ward, Gunners, Mass, Huss, Milky etc are in Gold.
Lewis, Ramma, Moore, Ginni, Impey, Croc, Greeves, Frenchie, Finn, Meek etc are in White.
TB's effort during the training and match sim cannot be ignored.
TB and Battle are jelling really well at the back.
Ramma with a good mark and finishes with a goal.
Croc with a mark and a goal.
Greeves got a goal from a Croc handball.
The match sim concluded with White leading 18-0.
Hodgey played on the wing and some watchers observed that he didn't look out of place.
The day ended with the players taking some goal kicking practise.
I could be wrong but the 2 other youngsters with Hodgey in the training were:
Jamil Smyth Secka
Myles Reynder

Good to see Greeves having a crack with Newcombe, not many go harder than Newcombe so it's a great way for the young bloke to see how he matches up.
I don't think he is fixed to any one midfielder. He is rotating through the different midsPairing him with Newc makes a lot of sense given they play with a similar flair. I suggested this may happen in the Greeves thread.
Having two bulls capable of rotating mid and forward only provides more team flexibility and headaches for the opposition.
I have a good feeling with Matt. When trying to project draftees upside he has a lot going for him as you mentioned to become quite a player if the development trajectory and commitment continues. Thanks for the photos and great training report PH. In the second photo from left to right are Jamil Secka, Myles Reynders, Ethan Stanley and Cooper Hodge.
Matt Leray and Aidan Schubert have been tracking well showing steady improvement. Matt is well balanced and has a strong body to compete well in the one on one drills. His ball handling is clean and his disposal with both feet is good. Prior to being drafted he played cricket so this is his first real pre-season football training. Aidan is a strong lead up mark and generally does well kicking to advantage. He’s mobile for a KPP and is working hard on marking with his hands in front of his body and kicking for goal from all angles. I’m looking forward to watching them playing for the BHH.
Going to be a monster. And elite endurance.Schubert looks huge
