He didn't, though? He asked bigman if Pedlar had been training in the midfield as Nicks said, and then when questioned on it pointed at the article which directly claimed that Nicks had indeed said that. All posts since then have been about the article, not Nicks.

I pointed out where Scorpus seemed to want to point attention towards - that Nicks could be incompetent enough to somehow not know where he had been playing Pedlar in training. That seems extraordinarily unlikely.

Someone else brought up the term gotcha. I just thought it was a long way to get back to "Nicks is always wrong".

Exactly why keeping Butts was a good idea. KPD depth so important.

Out of contract end of this season and by all reports is in the best nick physically he's ever been since joining the Crows. IMO he should now be a priority re-signing. Been very loyal and accepting and needs to be rewarded fot it.

Exactly my point. It's incredibly unlikely he would say that, and the article has been changed to correct the pretty obvious error.

I don't think we sucked at ball movement overall. We had some really good games and moved it fast.

I dont think you can be the third highest scoring team and win 18 games in the AFL if you suck at moving the ball.

I think we can improve off of half back in particular.

Whats been our focus under Nicks - I think it has changed from year to year.

First half to two thirds of the year our ball movement was elite

Became more stagnant and risk-averse as finals loomed.

Leigh Montagna said we'd gone from the No 1 most efficient team at moving from D50 to F50 in the competition to the 18th in the last few rounds + finals

Still winning at times but taking on a lot of water to do so. Eventually sunk us.

From bigman's reports though it seems like we're trying to do the last few rounds + finals style better rather than trying to get back to our free-wheeling style

Without Keane, our backline is looking even worse for rebound. We really do need to call time on Laird I think.

We should go with Butts - Worrell - Dawson - Max - Milera - Cook/Nank most weeks, with Murray in as reqd for opponents with bigger fwd lines.

Are there any KPD's that have been delisted that we now need to consider in the SSP or mid season draft as back up as we are very thin for KPD's now. Hinge can play the interceptor role - he has done it before but we lose a lot if we get an injury to either Butts or Murray as it would have to be Worrell then playing KPD and we lose his immense drive from defence if that happens

To look for any minor positives in the Keane injury, if you're gonna break your ankle I'd rather do it now than in 10 weeks. Unfortunately lots of pressure on Butts and Murray to stay fit now. Bulldogs, Geelong and Freo round 2 - 4 look scary now.
