Further to that LL I believe they will need to be careful with points for 2026 & need all of the 1 point players they can get.Screams sitting in a pocket and hoping for 30-40 odd goals depending on how good they are.
Judging by the ashwood, swinburne uni, and forest hill/nuna players they've signed, jury is out on that one.
Warrandyte/Chirnside/Fairpark will be tough to beat.
From memory donvale got some real beatings their first year back and look at them now, as long as they are building into the future they should be okay.

Selection will be a balancing act.
& no I’m not sure what level point they have been allocated for 2026. I should ask, but we will find out soon enough.
Finals comment was very tongue in cheek. No one really bit!!!
Called off because no ground is available
Knox Gardens Reserve no2, where the game was scheduled, became unavailable due to a cricket Grand FinalOD and Fairpark games on weekend called off. Not a good sign although it is a bit early![]()
A novelty for the club, more juggling at selection. There’s over 20 unavailable for the 1st practice match but they are still fielding 2 full sides this weekBobby my man what's going to happen to the 20-30 blokes not selected each week for the sharks? Nuna and forest hill could use some two's players I heard!
Was it ever available?Knox Gardens Reserve no2, where the game was scheduled, became unavailable due to a cricket Grand Final
Bunks going to love it more H!!!Bobby Beecroft your gunna love this.
Doncaster East just signed Noah Gown. Former Essendon Forward. Kicked 7 against Box Hill in a VFL game last year.
Only playing when not playing for Frankston
The same with Cora Lynn. Their ground is used by multiple clubs and have games Friday Saturday and Sunday. I believe Sth Belgrave are playing against Langwarrin tomorrowHealesville ground gets used heaps in pre-season because there is no cricket pitch. Clubs from all over Melbourne book it Fri nights / Sat / Sun for practice matches to avoid cricket finals. This weekend UFTG play Mulgrave at Yarra Glen because it's free.

Why would Oakleigh ever be hosting Fairpark at Knox anyway?
Why would Mooroolbark play Mernda at Thornton-Eildon’s ground?
Councils have definitely gotten much more restrictive about it over the last decade or so. Was a big factor in killing off the neutral cricket GFs in the RDCA because councils wouldn't let clubs host unless a club from their council was playing.Knox council have a rich history of rarely allowing non LGA clubs from using their facilities. Fairpark hosting Oakleigh at Knox would have been a possibility but even then because they aren't a co tenant of that particular ground, they would need written permission from everyone from King Charles to the local dog walking group to do it.
Its proven country clubs have much more flexibility in the use of their ovals, probably because many don't have a cricket club at the venue which means they have tenancy 12 months a year, but also because their councils don't seem to be as rigid as metro councils.
Example - a few years back Monash Council refused to let GWH host an under 19s game before their 1s and 2s because neither of the 2 clubs competing were part of their LGA. For example Coldstream was playing GWH seniors away but their 19s were fixtured at Home to play Wantirna South, so to make life easier for Coldstream and Wantirns South they contacted GWH to play the 19s before the 2s game. GWH were keen on the extra revenue but the Monash Council intervened and said no.
Oakleigh played East Burwood last season in a practice match at Knox gardens bottom oval so has happened in the pastWhy would Oakleigh ever be hosting Fairpark at Knox anyway?

How much a game?Steven may to east ringwood confirmed
I had heard years ago that YV Cobras were as good as in Eastern FL, and last minutes the womens team didnt want to leave VAFA!!!!!Thats the norm now. Get a u19's up, offer free fees and the rest of it and jag other clubs kids.
Too many clubs in that area, similar to the doncaster area. Simple maths means someone misses out.
So many clubs in one space. I've heard Whitefriars OC/Aquinas OC/Old Yarra from the VAFA are seriously contemplating moving to the EFNL. IF they get in, more competition as that adds another bulleen area club, and two more further east.
Difference between B-T and Doncaster is that B-T's junior club is up there with the best in the area and they have sorted their u19 connection out, VAFA days they'd all leave but now they stay. With a constant wave of good kids coming in I feel B-T won't be in D4 very long. On the other foot Doncasters junior clubs on its knees, no teams past u13s. Its that bloody tough competing in a migrant busy area where less and less kids want to play football.
