Even if we lost round 1, I think we’d be favourites but im not convinced it will be a walk in the park.


There was zero passengers on Sunday, you could debate one or two but everyone played well. How often will that happen? I’d like to say every game but its just not going to happen.

What will we look like if Cobden plays like his usual self and not the version from Sunday? The lads need more runs on the board before we can suggest it’s a walk in the park

Totally agree. I want to trust us so badly. Been burnt too many times. I remember the feeling of going into a weekend thinking, if we play well this week we are a genuine chance to win.

Separate to this week's game trying to recall when we last won 3 in a row without extraordinary circumstances?

ie in 2019 we won Brad's last game when Rhyce's 1st 2 games but that was a double coach bounce.

The last meaningful 3 in a row I can find is 2018 - GWS, Freo, Brisbane.

I personally think the media predictions are a good thing.

The guys will treat this as a big game imo, instead of "week by week, lets just try and string two good performances together"


I think they will know alot of their credibility will ride on backing up this week now.

I said Blamires was the obvious out for Hardeman but now I’ve watched the replay and also the preseason Pies game replay and I’ve changed my mind - the guy has barely put a foot wrong. Clarko says the selectors need to ask themselves who deserves to go out. Well, Blamires would be the poster boy for being kept in on performance and the injured player will have to wait and take it from him.

If the boys play like they did last week we are a good chance, I am not taking anything for granted they need to put pressure on in every line and all of the game as we are slowly getting better so is WC.

We've all been emotionally scarred from previous false dawns and horrible performances.

But, the way they played against Port was not like previous seasons. They're cooking something and I'm extremely confident they'll do a number on this mob. The backline is a worry, sure, but that shouldn't stop them.

Its still less that 10 years since Boomer Harvey broke the games record. That's later this season. That was huge and an absolute must win game while our season was falling apart like a cheap suit. This is probably the most important game since then tho.

A r2 H&A game against a team expected to fight it out for the wooden spoon with Richmond vs one of our all time greats, a former captain and premiership player among other things, breaking the all time games record.
