Brisbane been pretty poor so far this season. Collingwood will give them a ride for their money but in the end, too much class on the Brisbane forward line and a win by 25 points.

No injuries would be great.

We match up well tactically with Brisbane. I'd never write us off against them.

Those last quarter finishes are bloody impressive, you can beat them for a half and lose it in a quarter.

Both sides got to play at Docklands this round so probably both have extra aches and niggles, its the worst ground in Australia for wrecking players.

Slow start so far (two flags and the extra games that entails will do that) but easily the best side in the comp, I'd be very pleased to win this.

Edit: just found out Brisbane has a five day break, after playing in Melbourne.

That's fricking outrageous. Same thing happened last year and it plainly affected the outcome (at least the margin, maybe the result) as Brisbane completely ran out of legs.

We have no defenders left which is TOUGH.

Big underdogs here. Will be lucky to get within 10 goals of the pies. Sack fagan.

My early tip be it monday 3 days out i have a Pies win by 12 points.
Dont discount the Pies at the gabba.
Pies play gabba well like the AO.
Got a good record there v lions.
Same as last year same time of the year as well.
Similar situation.
A backs to the wall win for the Pies.
And this is no different.
Pies by 12 points.
Lions arent there yet nearly lost v saints and got some of their talls out with injuries.

Collingwood are usually comfortable on the road, but had a solid home win over GWS at Marvel.

But if that hungry Lions side from last year's finals (semi onwards) shows up, it might be a very different story.

I'll pick the Pies by 7 points, they do play well on the road.

If you had Matthew Nicks he'd be long sacked. Thank goodness you have Fagan. From Tassie, tough minded, probably the best coach in the AFL.

I don't bet, I don't even like talking about betting but holy cow how are Collingwood paying $3?

They usually do better in the Easter GABBA matchup than the MCG/Marvel games against us too

Considering the 5 day turnaround from a Melbourne trip with no Andrews/McCluggage/Gardiner/Payne/Answerth/Hipwood as well, I'd expect the Pies to get up in this one.

No Moore and Pendlebury for Colliwobbles

Lions are easier to snag a win on earlier in the season, especially with their injuries. Wouldn't mind a win before we take on Freo and then a powerhouse Carlton outfit.

AFL doing us a massive favour here, absolute joke the premiers get a five day break off a road trip.

Spot on about injuries, much worse than ours

We'd want to win this, got to jag wins over the best sides when they are served up like this, but really this should be a Saturday game.

Might have to have a bet on this one if the pies are paying $3, a lot will depend on Daicos I suppose . Do the Lions usually try to tag him or just let him do what he wants like Gws did last week ?

They tend to play their own game, which is pretty bloody good.

IIRC they have used Dunkley to run with rather than hard tag (if that makes sense?) some of our mids, on the basis they are better off playing their game than stopping ours.

We match up extremely well on them. They've had an edge in class thats only gotten bigger in recent years but we regularly trot up there and beat them.

Last year was dodgy though, short break and IIRC we had the long one.

Yeah but who knows, they did do a vicious tagging job on NAS. Not sure though how much of that was down to just bad blood between the two teams. Agree we likely will just do a light tag/run with player on Nick. Would be crazy to let him roam free.

I thought the hard tag was only in the first half and in the second you smashed them?

A heap of your blokes play both directions well, and the PF i recall WAshcroft catching Naicos a couple if times, so they're aware and give support, but its not some wretched Ross Lyon octopus effort.

Yep the shackles were released in the 2nd. Lions very rarely go the hard tag.. and Berry seems to be our go to enforcer. Recall a few years back he did a very good job on Oliver when he was worth tagging.

I am pretty sure it is our request to have this Easter Thursday game when we put in our wish list for the fixture.

Meh, it is what it is. I don't think you can really moan too much about a five day break when we had the bye prior to the Saints game.

I thought the tactic that worked pretty well was we don't try to stop him getting the ball, but as soon as he got it we tried to cramp his space to make him dispose by hand rather than foot? That was mid year last year though, I didn't get to watch the final last year to see if there was a tag.

Hoping Brisbane just don't turn up for this one, literally. Perhaps 23 flat tyres on the way to the ground, or 23 Michael Jordan pizzas get delivered the night before or for whatever reason they all just forget the way to the ground. Whatever the case I feel this is our only real hope!!

Pies by 87 points.
