Unfortunate to hear about some big injuries in the praccy matches. How many more bad concussions does Noodles have? Narre have been hit hard too but they will still be strong.

Round 1 should be interesting. VFL bye that weekend so expecting the likes of Tyson Milne etc to all play local footy, which should make for some very high quality football. St Paul's V Bentleigh match-up shaping up to be a star-studded game.

Cheltenham get over the Doggies in a tight one, and I feel Springvale can most definitely knock off Dingley this coming Friday. Springvale have recruited well while Dingley seem to have lost more than gained.

Hard to get a read on the competition as a whole this year, and I think 4-5 teams will be thinking they can win the flag this year.

Cheltenham
Bentleigh
Springvale
St Paul's
Dingley
Narre
Murrumbeena
Cranbourne
Hampton Park
Port

Ventured out to Hampton Park on Saturday to see what $450k buys you. No not the Redbacks but Moe.

Weren't even at full strength as Harmes I don't think was playing, yet the visitors couldn't even scratch up a Reserves team. Puzzling

Think your ladder will be close to correct at the of the year. Possible change will be Springvale on top. 👍

Div 4 is basically legalised fight club for the lower teams, Div 1 seen a few Argy Bargy but nothing near as bad remember a few years ago Dingley get a couple of soft yellows against springy and that settles the game, Vafa fines clubs for melees
...and yet the AMMOS always do well in the interleague matches...Ammos is a very high quality standard...

TBF Libs have hardly been in power at state level so who has done more is really a mute point. If your club is located in safe seat you often get bugger all so being a marginal electorate Bentleigh tends to get a bit more thrown at it. Having said that Staikos is a decent bloke who works hard for his community. A lot to be said for having a local servicing the patch where they grew up. You can’t say the same about most politicians, no matter which side they represent.
Yeah great bloke...Just ask him how the Govt intends to pay off the 250bn debt. That is what the debt will end up in 2028..Btw couldnt give a stuff about either Party...but when Labor wins office after the election get ready for a tax on every residential property at the amount you pay for your current rates.
That is the only way they or the Libs can start to try and pay off the debt. Anyhoo be happy that any local footy supporter will be able to get a train direct to Melb Uni to watch Uni Blues or Uni Blacks play...Only cost 30 billion..

Not sure why you are responding to a quote from November last year. Anyway my comment was regarding sports (football) facilities in the area and that for the most part local clubs doing comparatively well based on the electorate being marginal and Staikos being a born and bred local. While I don’t take much interest in politics, as to your other point it’s hard to disagree that the state is cooked and that as a government Minister he needs to share some of the blame. However that discussion is for other forums.

Might be something significant other than footy happening on the weekend. I see Greg Tivendale is doing a John Farnham

Retired is such a loosely used term by some ;)

I've only started uploading the list of names and getting everyone's registrations in so we don't just have 10 players.

P.s 2's Hack keen for a kick tomorrow haha?
