Club needs to be on the lookout for a ruck in the MSD. Just find the best available

Sam Grant art VFL level started the season well. Jordan Lukac at SANFL seemed to do ok vs Kieran Strachan who would be our number 1 ruck. Harry Boyd at SANFL as option 3. I think all 3 come in and plonk themselves ahead of FLynn in the pecking order

Toby Cossor is a 21yo, 204cm, 111kg ruck from Myrtleford playing for Peel Reserves. Looks like he easily accounted for Strnadica on the weekend. Played for Box Hill previously but probably couldn’t see many opportunities coming his way with Meek and Reeves ahead of him. Might be worth keeping an eye on him, albeit he’ll probably need a few seasons to develop and we’re desperate for someone to provide immediate competitiveness.

Jacob Marron an option as KPD for MSD, good aerial lockdown and intercept defender. With decent ball use

Has started well as an overager, was a bit of a riser last year and obviously not picked up. Good shout!

Reckon come end of year would rather him than Bazzo on our list, so fingers crossed Edwards is fine. We'd be looking at a KPD stock of something like Edwards, Brock, Young, Marron and a draftee of Ladbrook, Bradley or Hodgson hopefully

Looking back at the players we had strong links to and missed out on. Likely cost as well. Both would’ve fitted a massive need.

Darcy Cameron - Josh Lindsay pick (bit confusing because we moved up ect)
Sam Butler - Sam Allen? Or Fred Rodriguez because we had more than enough picks and surely would’ve moved some players around better.

Some will hate it but I reckon we can have a bit of a leap next year if we can do a Hawks for 2 season ago and bring in the right cost price options. Gunstan, Ginni, Mass and Chol. All filled a hole on for list along with getting another need in Watson. We would still go to the draft with out top few selections.

The confidence of our list team hitting these sort of home runs isn’t at the level it would like. Comparing them to this years
Way too early ratings
Young - 5/10 - interrupted preseason but down on what most thought and what tigers supporters told us what he can do.

Dev - 8/10 most could see this but long seasons still to come. Loved a clip before the Power game and someone asked him if we can win and he said we can win every game. Very different to how other answer that question.

Macrae - 2/10 early days but never been in the ‘a’ side from the games I’ve watched and well down in his other role of helping the kids in the WAFL.

Schoenberg - 4/10 intra looked like the steal of the year but worried if he was recruited as an hff. 1 cba on Saturday when surely he should’ve been an option.

Did we luck into Murdock when we apparently rang Blamires but he said he was staying at the Roos.

I assume we moved up on the Lindsay pick cos the Hawks had the pick before and knew us and the Dogs wanted him so they gave us a call and said make us a deal. They managed to squeeze the Saints second rounder out of us for it 🤷‍♂️

Either way I'm fine with ok with it, Darcy Cameron's gonna be 31 in July, I'm not trading a first rounder away for anyone who isn't gonna give us at least six years of service.

Yeah we also moved up before that with the Freo/Brissy trade. I doubt any of that would’ve happened if the Cameron trade happened. Why it’s a little hard to judge trades or possible trades

Starcevich can barely get on the park at 26 years of age after three straight Grand Final campaigns and we wanna bring in someone 6? 7? years older than him with existing calf issues? :persevere:
Yeah when one is for free and still a positional of need

Cameron has been down this year, which is why.the Pies bought Steene in to ruck with him

New ruck rules have hindered him a bit, has struggled. Pies fans pretty flat on him at the moment

If Steene performs and they land a big fish this off season, wouldn’t be surprised if they were willing to deal him

I get the feeling that Jack Riewoldt doesn’t actually believe half the stuff he says and just tries to say things that are easy to soundbite and will get clicks.

To be fair maybe he’s just figured out that’s how the AFL media landscape works nowadays. More often than not though he just makes a fool out of himself.

Bloke should take up a trade, because he's a terrible television presenter.

Has all the charisma of a cardboard box.

Gee, what the **** was Riewoldt thinking at the end there?

Thankfully Bucks came in to save the day.

Riewoldt is a moron who contributes nothing. It boggles my mind he is so highly thought of at fox.

Everything is wrong with Reid that needs to be fixed. Again wa media…no, east coast media is the issue.

Interested to see how the new ruck rules benefit Bailey..

Feel he will look better at centre bounces with his leap.

On a related note Barett on the AFL site this week mentioned Bailey as a ruck who would struggle with the new rules as Baikey cant jump.

He isnt a leaping ruckman. Like really?

Well that just proves Barett doesnt know who Bailey is. You would be spewing if you were the player. Actually borderline defamatory TBH.

Air Bailey will be his new nickname.

Only problem is that no one will know where his taps will land though.

The excuses are hilarious, Dimma doesn’t like him for a reason. Fine with buying low on him but it’s time to be honest about what he’s showing because he isn’t even very good in the VFL.

Im sure Diima likes him.

Some talls take longer than others and yes, Walter needs to show more to justify his draft ranking. He isnt alone for talls picked early.

Im hoping he has a meh season and his price plummets.
