Autopsy Hawks Far Too Good For Dogs In 40 Point Drubbing 104 - 64

How bad is Richards

How far away is Timmy and Libba?

Don't know. He looked in a lot of pain. The commentators suggested that he was able to put some weight on it so it might not be the worst. They are hardly doctors though

Libba listed as 2-3 on the website last week. English was TBC but you'd think MCL is a month, 6 weeks type injury

Not moving Lobb to the ruck quick enough was the game. I also don’t understand why we don’t do anything about Newcomb after he kills us in the middle every game.

IMO this game would have been much closer had Lobb started in the ruck and your debut Ruckman just giving him a rest.

Hope Richard’s is okay for you, really dislike seeing any player being seriously injured.

Until we get some experience into this spine i fear these types of losses will be inevitable when one of our experienced keys comes out. Take out English, Lobb or Naughton, and we very quickly look closer to a Richmond/Eagles than to the more mature Hawks.

Darcy just hit 50 games, and O'Donnell only crossed the mark this year. Khamis, Emmett and Croft combine for barely 50 total. The spine wont hold up when its so raw.

Emmett, Dolan, Sellwood, Croft, Hynes, Davidson, Gallagher, Sanders, Freijah, Khamis and Darcy all came into this game with under 50 games experience. 11 players.

We will be seriously tested over the coming 3 weeks. Winning any of these matches will be an uphill battle, but if we want to have a serious crack at finals then we should be winning 2 out of 3.

Hawks far too big and strong for us. We shot ourselves in the foot with goal kicking and field kicking, one of our worst perfomances for awhile. Resorted to bombing it in again and our forwards still competing against each other. Found out what life without English is. Hope Ed's injury is not too serious. Capped of a disasterous night.

I don’t disagree with any of that. But do bulldogs supporters think it’s coincidence that we play poorly against Hawthorn every time we play them?

I think it’s bizarre that a professional sporting organisation accepts this every time they play this opponent.

Mitchell just circles these games on the calendar as guaranteed wins because he knows there will be no resistance or any change to what he sees. It’s disgraceful.

Given Darcy did next to nothing after the first quarter, why wasn’t he put in the ruck?

I even remember Beveridge putting Naughton in the ruck in that match against Collingwood last year for a bit when he wasn’t doing anything.

Poor Louis Emmett was on a hiding to nothing tonight.

Rucks until English gets back should be Lobb and Darcy.

We can’t throw Emmett and Croft to the wolves like tonight, both for their own and the teams sake.

we should be winning 2 out of 3
No Richards, English, or Libba. Next week is essentially Bont or bust. Sanders had an All-Time stinker tonight, but the witch hunt for him is wrongly placed. 75% of the team played similarly, and it takes a special player to rise above the stink of their teammates.

Freijah, West, Davidson, Naughton, and Baker didn't fire a shot. This is what I mean, do we really think this game is repeatable? It's an all-time car crash at the hands of a bogey side.

We may not get the choccies next week. But it damn sure won't look like tonight.

And before last week he got dicked on by Chris Scott time after time

Sometimes teams match up well against another e.g us vs GWS

I've noticed a pattern of Sanders getting judged to a much higher standard than others on here. I don't get it. He was decent tonight, in my opinion, far better than many others.

Him, Richards and Kennedy probably our best.

I really like Sellwood too, he’s been a good find.

Our draw is nuts this year, scary reality is we mostly likely go from 4-0 to 4-4 at this stage
This is absolutely true. 4 and 4 and mid table once again. It’s like the last 4 years on repeat

It is crazy. Not many easy games to start

The good news is that if we can keep our head above water we have a real soft finish to the year with games against St Kilda, West Coast, Richmond, North, Carlton and Melbourne in the last 9 rounds. We've got a big Marvel stretch coming up to. Even if we get to 5-3, preferably 6-2, before we get some names back we'll be in an outstanding spot

Would be a real shame after the Brisbane and Adelaide away wins to end up sliding back to 4-4. Thats a long way away though and I'm confident we wont slip. It wouldn't be unprecedented though, think the Tigers in 2017 started 5-0 and then might have dropped back to 5-5 before getting their groove back and finishing with the flag

Essendon beat us after quarter time last week.

There is no soft finish.

For all the doom and gloom I think a few young guys stood up. Croft was better with the extra forward time. Sellwood could hold his head high in defence. Hynes was also much improved on his last game at the level.

My three biggest concerns this year so far are Freijah (gets a bit of a pass on age), Dale and West. As mature age players and two of my favourites West and Dale need to have done more and will want to improve soon.

Obviously Emmett was thrown to the wolves and isn't ready but I think he gave plenty of glimpses as to what he will deliver with time. I am very happy with what he will become.

Apart from the missed spoil, I thought Sellwood was great all night.

Hynes had a much better second half and had some moment of real class.

That period towards the end of the 3rd quarter where we dominated was fun. Feel like if Croft kicked that to make it 16 instead of 21 we could have some real momentum.
100 % the Croft miss definitely deflating momentum wise. Let the Hawks off the 🪝 and they made us pay the other way
