SNFL Div 4 2026

Any wind to report today from Ashwood? I know one end of the ground gets pretty windy…just not sure which end..
Don’t think there was much wind, asked my mate who goes down to watch someone play at Dovey. He said wind wasn’t anything noticeable but who knows, could have just been where he was standing. So sounds like it wasn’t noticeable.

This round just proved that Clayton aren’t playing finals in all honesty, only real eye opener from this round, other results expected.

Interesting to see doveton had the flu go through the club and no bench at the end of the game. Possibly may of won that game if it wasn’t for that

Brayden hunt is a good player for them he crossed on good money from sth yarra but the rest are overpaid and old

Yep I agree with that, but the older guys are still solid enough to play Div 4 Seniors. As I said with a top 5, I think they will make it.

ashwood 22 behinds played a bit of a factor into why the game was close. convert half of that and it’s a big win.

Jesus Christ there was some carry on from the Clayton lads on Saturday.
Little passage from 4:15 in Part Two of their vision resulted in a 150m penalty & easy goal from just over HB.
The slight giggle from the camera operator sums it up well.
Speaking of camera operators. Hats off to this operator for the clear & up close vision. Quality

As opposed to what appears to be a likeness to filming on an iPhone X out at Ross St

As someone who watches a lot of replayed games online & footage through social media, I'm starting a war on cameramen. Clubs no doubt have to pay for the privilege to have the service provided, so they should demand a better quality than what is currently being provided through Sportscast. VAFA do it so much better with their VAFATV

I haven't bothered watching the St Pauls game as yet, as I haven't taken my Travacalm this morning

About time somebody called out the cameraman/woman you're absolutely right

I'll be dropping screenshot of the week. This from Round 1 Highett v Keysborough lifted from the SFNL facebook page with logos in the top corner. No its not filmed in torrential rain or heavy fog, this was a sunny Good Friday filmed behind frosted glass with a window pane in the way. I realise every location is not ideal but be better

Narre and St Johns floating around that 28-30 player points, everyone else pretty much hitting the cap, Lyndale at 44 points still with Ahmed to come up from the 2's and he probably a 4 or 5 pointers

I wouldn't call 39 or 40 points "pretty much hitting the cap" - more just under the limit.

If you're playing at 40/46 points, there's still room for two 4 point players if you bring out two 1 point players.
40 - 2 = 38 + 8 = 46

Lyndale would be "pretty much hitting the cap" at 44.
FWIW in this thread, Ahmed will be a 5 point player.

5 points isn't that vfl player number? still if sitting around the 40 points couple of injuries in your 1 pointers could mean a few decisions

Yes. Players locally also get added points too depending on circumstances.

According to my calculations on Ahmed:
3 point base (more senior than reserves games in past 3 seasons)
Plus 1 - playing at 3+ clubs in past 3 seasons
Plus 1 - playing directly against former club (Dandenong West)

Players can also get +1 point for coming from a top flight (Premier/D1) club from: EFNL, EDFL, NFL, SFNL, VAFA, AFLOE, WRFL, O&MFNL, MPNFL, Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong, Gippsland, Goulburn Valley, Hampden FNL, ect.

Whilst I disagree with some areas of AFL Vic's Player Points system - mainly as it discourages recruitment for lower divisions without juniors - clubs need to be learning it & knowing what the players they recruit will be classed as.

st johns would want to hope they have a few to come in as I watched mates from both sides play and they were not that impressive at all.
havent watched dw yet might try this weekend but clayton and st johns look slow to me

Agree jocs look slow.

Be a few good games coming up in the next couple of weeks, Dandy vs Ashwood be a good test for both i haven't been able to watch dandy yet but should be too good, round 4 all-stars vs st johns

Just watched the highlights of Moorabin v D4 all stars and a lot of carry on coming from the all stars and the peanut gallery behind the goals
Looks pretty ordinary, hope the goal umpire didn't cop any stick! (He looks about 13 years old). You'd think the prez or someone from the committee from Clayton would walk over & tell them to pull their heads in.

Not part of it but as long as the ump is left out of it - I’d say they are just supporting. Like any AFL cheer squad but on a smaller scale.
