There's a lot to unpack in that performance

not sure what JHFs career highs will have reached be when it whimpers out

Georgiades, Again, game losing disappointment. you cant carry that.

Carr lost a few months off his life tonight

Honestly not the worst effort. Clearly outclassed but I thought we’d go on and lose by 70 when they kicked the first couple of the 3rd. Good to at least fight back.
Sav worked his way into it first game back and Berry looking better every game now is great to see.
Would be disappointed though if we don’t win our next 2.

umpires 42 and 35 both just not allowing anything for Port and stopping momentum. Was happening the first half and now after ports run they stepped in. Didnt even want to pay a ruck infringement free to Sweet and thankfully he got a high free from ump 22 Nathan... ffs
Yeah, it was the umpires.

Hung in there, some promising signs from the kids, but the quality gap in the midfield was diff, not helped by crap goal kicking again. Terrible game by JHF tried to launch at ball but timing was out and generally well held by his defender. Life without Butters will be bleak.

JHF out of the goal square probably our most over rated 'play'. He can't outmark proper KPD sized defenders, he's better off just trying to force the ball to ground and winning it there.
Plus he's another member of the untrustable shots at goal crew.

Poor middle of the game and poor goal kicking cost us. Weird game where we could have lost by 50, but some decent goal kicking also could have made it very close.

We go into that game with an underdone Anastasopoulos and Lorenz, Mackinlay with one pre-season under his belt, tall skinny 2nd year Whitlock, Moraes with a few games under his belt, Watkins who is just ok, wound up with Visentini in defence, underdone Ratugolea, lost Jones early.

Nobody expected us to win this game and after that horror 15 minutes in the second quarter, it was looking like it was going to be a proper shellacking. But we fought it out and if not for some wayward set shot goalkicking could have made it really interesting at the end.

We all know where we are at this year so it is good to see them tough games out and stick to the structures and gameplan.

Can we offer Butters even more money?

These misses really did hurt. JHF missing an easy shot when all he had to do was run in for an open goal or handpass it to Whitlock. Then Richards missing twice and another went OOF. Then the middle got smashed went Visentini went to the ruck and GC soon gained the momentum. Georgiades as usual cannot be relied upon to kick goals. He is that far ahead in the key forward department aside from his goal kicking. Should easily be leading the coleman.

He's not worth more than 2 mill. I'd rather a bunch of talented young kids come in. His mind is made up anyway.

I thought Richards was awful at some point in the last quarter, finishes up with 3 goals and should have kicked 5.

I agree with that, but theres still some solid questions to be asked of some senior players

is there any way we can keep Butters? do we have to trade him? we simply cannot lose him. period. let him live in Melbourne and fly to the games whatever it takes we cant lose him

and I have one last thing to say. ..$6,500 you little ripper Burgoyne!
