Gunston is their most important forward and Barrass is their only back with true kpd size.

Just shows how vulnerable virtually every team is with two or three injuries to key players. Every team has a few star players and the rest are role players. The role players are replaceable, the star players are not.

WC have been crippled by injuries the last few years including this one.
The only problem with that is all our injuries are to Role players (Robertson, Graham, Edwards, Newton etc). Must be key role players 😂

While not A graders, your only decent KPB and your only defensive midfielders missing for a team like us have a massive impact on our ability to be competitive.
I called it when Dev and Graham went out. Some said they are only role players but losing that amount of tackling pressure from our midfield has resulted in us going from a promising season to being prime spoon contenders.

Richmond have lost another player today due to Injury - Campbell Gray against the Saints, he injured his hamstring. That's now 19 players on Richmond's injury list. It's getting towards "West Coast level season 2022" where the club is decimated by injury and has to dip into state league to find some players, in 2022 it was West Coast using the WAFL....this time Richmond will have to look at the VFL.

Look for accountants.

I'll give this to Richmond, they got like 30 blokes on the injured list and still only losing games by 36 points. While we continually lose by 60+ every week with a few first choice players on our injured list.

To be fair charlies dad is probably the biggest name in that room.

They don't get many actual premiership players in the walls of their organisation.

Charlie B: 11 possessions a goal 3 marks 3 tackles from 60% game time. Nothing wrong with that for a first AFL game. Good Luck to him and the Saints in the future.

Inspired by the touching jumper presentation by Saints legend Drew Banfield, here's some stats I pulled on some of their other players through the years on debut.

Bo Allan: 7 possession 4 marks 2 takles 0 score
Hamish Davis: less but sub
Clay Hall: less but sub
Elijah Hewett, Rhuben Ginbey: less but sub, and both less in first full game [8]

^Has these ammeters covered

Andrew Gaff: 14 possessions 4 marks, 1 tackle 0 score
Daniel Kerr: 14, 3, 1, 0
Ben Cousins: 14, 3, 1, 2 goals
Chriss Judd: 19,1,4, 1 goal

^Hmm it's close but these first rounders slightly edge him on talent.

Campbell Chesser: 5, 3,2,0
Liam Duggan: 5, 3, 0, 0
Dom Sheed: 3,0,1,0
Chris Masten:11, 3, 2, 0

^Lol, bunch VFL players masquerading as first round draft picks. Easy kill.

Harley Reid: 16, 2, 2, 0
Willem Duursma: 14,5,5,0

^Would have liked to see some more scoreboard pressure from these #1 picks but it's clear they have a slight edge.

Probably helps not travelling 8hrs and living in a hotel room every other week.

While it shouldn't be acceptable, I can appreciate why a blue and gold team may be more susceptible to heavy losses when bottoming out compared to their Melbourne counterparts

Will we hear 'they've only got themselves to blame '?

No, we'll hear "this is unprecedented, no other team has ever had so many players unavailable".

Zita was already saying this yesterday during his half-time update at the Richmond game - "it's reaching unprecedented levels". Media love using that line.
