Is that same record that u said NOD was also no chance of making it?
Well obviously yes. I also remember saying Darcy Tucker wasn't going to make the grade and he ended up playing 150 AFL games. I'm sure I could dig up other occasions when I was wrong too. Maybe you could dig some of your up as well and we cou..

Wait, you were just being a dick weren't you?

Onya Wallsy, he knows what he's built here is on the verge of greatness and if he stays he can be the architect of continued success.

If we have Walls at the helm for 15 years we won't ever need to seriously hit the draft again imo. Win a flag or two and then go for the Geelong method. We've got appeal over West with beaches and lifestyle just like them, we just need success..

While it's good he's staying, you hope the club's list mgmt strategy isn't reliant on any one person and there's long-term succession planning in place.

If you threw the names in the hat on who you’d like Darcy Wilson and Zac Bailey would be right up there.

Small forward/mid to replace Switta and rotate with Bolton and Reid and an elite winger.
Couldn’t get both, but tilt at both and see if we get a bite.

Bailey would be great move from Walls. 27 in September, been there and done that. Be great for the next 4 years.

Ed Allan is starting to look good and would be more affordable and on the right age group.

I think the issue with the first two is they wont be overly realistic.

So much so that we might be better off focusing on more realistic options like the third name mentioned. If we only chase Allan later he might just re-sign and we're looking at another Bolton situation in a few years.

Bloody love that Bolton is playing for us btw but there was an opportunity early in his career to bring him back. It would've been for **** all btw. We hesitated and he ended up staying at Richmond until his value went through the roof.

Maybe I'm leaning too heavily on his last couple games but I dont see the point of Allen if we already have Noddy potentially out of the best 23. Now, if he leaves, then sure but I dont see the point anymore. I certainly dont see why Allen would leave a team he's now playing for most weeks for a team that he's going to struggle to get a gig

Kind of agree with this tbh.

Only reason would be depth, which IMO if JOM retires, NOD is traded etc we'll need. Issue for us would Allan is unlikely to come unless he's best 23 which at this stage is no guarantee.

Think Trent Rivers is a big chance a a free agent next year though. He's probably that next tier up that's pretty much guaranteed to be best 23 but at the same time isn’t so good he'll blow up the salary cap. Will be at West Coast in 2028, if not Freo. Bookmark it.

weird. Adelaide has already built possibly the most potent forward line or at least top 3. It's the rest of the team that (aside from Dawson) that is average. If I were Adelaide, I'd be spending my war chest on the other lines.

Bailey can play midfield.

They are also chasing a melbourne mid - Sparrow who would fix part of their midfield issue.

Don't forget they have Draper and Curtin who have been injured this year, he will help their midfield a lot.

Their backline is surprisingly strong, defiantly not an issue. Midfield is the issue at the moment.

There midfield is atrocious, anyone throwing coin at Bailey is doing so with the view he is a permanent mid.

The one guy i would be throwing a packet of money at and multiple first round drafts picks is Jasper Fletcher. Very unlikely even then that we would land him, but with the Ed Allen talk the one that bothers me more so is Fletcher.

79 games, B&F, Captain for two years - 21 games in 2001 and we delist him needlessly.

Fair chance Jasper chooses Brisbane over us anyway so its probably a moot point, but disappointing to not get a shot regardless.

He has the 3rd year blues this year. Completely out of form.
